I've got that stupid yoga class tonight where I'll look and feel like a complete moron! But for the love of this sport, I am willing to step outside of my comfort zone and try something different.

'Morning!  I BEGRUDGINGLY changed my log to reflect a Monday-Sunday training week, since the miles game works that way, Strava works that way, and my coach sends my workout weeks that way.  Figured my RA log needed to be in sync.  I still say that everyone else is wrong and the weeks should run Sunday - Saturday.  WTF is wrong with people.

ANYWHO, I've got nice light workout day today.  Just a one hour spin bike session to do after work.  My legs are feeling last night's track session.

LRB - I'm making myself get back in the habit of a weekly yoga class (and occasional 15-20 minute video at home). I do think it will make a difference for my hip and heel.

4.27 miles with the group, including hill repeats, wall squats and some fartleks in the last mile.

20,000 miles behind me, the world still to see.

            Good morning!

I ran 10.2 slow, cold miles.  I could still feel yesterday's run.

I hope everyone has a great day!

I did 3.1 miles yesterday and moved my rest day to today since it is supposed to rain all evening and night. I started out yesterday's run with a 7:04 mile because it was windy and I was cold.

              Personal Bests:

              800M - 2:38 (5/28/13) | 1 Mile -5:54 (5/28/13) | 3K - 11:55 (12/29/12) | 2M - 13:00 (12/1/12) | 5K - 20:00 (4/12/13) | 13.1M - 1:37:24 (2/3/13)

I got to the track last night and found out that a friend had signed up for her first marathon and was running the first Hanson's workout.  But she didn't bring her watch.  So I got to be the pacer for 12 x 400.  Smile  More of a workout than I'd expected, but much more fun since it wasn't technically "my" workout somehow.

                  Brought back some memories?

I was looking at one of their more advanced plans (not in the book). You would be interested - they take some of the an juice them up a bit. For example a 12x400 but with only 200m recoveries. Also an 8x800, and 5x1600. And all the "strength" workouts are designated to be at HMP.

                  Anyway, SRD.

Your left side has been as troublesome for you as mine has been for me. I'm just so sick of it all but I want to get back to racing competitively really bad. I miss it.

                          Thinking out loud here....

Last night's workout was 7 x 5 minutes at a 6:36 avg pace, with 1 minute walk/jog recoveries.  10K PR pace is 6:50.  I have a 10K Saturday.  Right now my plan, at Coach's suggestion, is to aim for a 6:36 pace in that race and target a 41 minute finish, understanding it may be a tad conservative.  I'm probably going to stick to that plan.  I do wonder what kind of shape I am in if I decided to aim higher.  I guess I'll find out Saturday, but I want to know now.

Well the good thing is you can look at this weekend as a trial run, since you have another 2 weeks later. So you can either shoot for the moon and plan to crash if necessary, or go conservative and see how much you have left in the tank in the last 1-2 miles. Either way you will then be able to adjust accordingly for the next race.

Well if the Saturday weather holds up, I'll need to take a mulligan on this one anyway.  Freezing rain and snow in the forecast.  I'll run it no matter what, but weather may be a factor.

It's always fun until it's your own training. I'm going to register for Newport very soon I think. But I have no idea how I want to train for it.
