If not, there should be....
I personally do not use the band for the front lunge, as those are longer strides. I do use it for side lunges though. In my case, I was not bending my rear leg deep enough to do the movement effectively. That one simple thing made all the difference in the world for me. You are now likely to see me doing them up and down my block, as I love challenges! D, isn't there a ninja race down there, ha-ha! Basya, there is a definite difference. I could feel and hear my heels grazing the belt (on the treadmill yesterday) with each stride as they are much lower than what I am used to. I will make the necessarily adjustment in that regard. They are light and incredibly airy, and I could feel air flowing through them indoors no less. The big test will come when I get them bad boys outside for a real run. And I don't have to tell you, I cannot wait for that!

Working on deciding my March race still. Ideally, I would want it to be 3/16.
There is only one 5k that day and it attracts 5,000 people. That is a lot of people for a 5k. I would have to get to this race early to get a good spot close to the front.
Option two is a 5k on the 9th that attracts about 500 annually. I could toe the line at the start of this one. The date is not ideal. March 9th. I really want to get in three tortue sessions (repeats) prior to the race. The March 9th race only gets me two.
Personal Bests:
800M - 2:38 (5/28/13) | 1 Mile -5:54 (5/28/13) | 3K - 11:55 (12/29/12) | 2M - 13:00 (12/1/12) | 5K - 20:00 (4/12/13) | 13.1M - 1:37:24 (2/3/13)
Wickedly Average
Morning again, Dailies!
4.1 easy-esque miles in Ed Austin Regional park in Jacksonville. Nice little local park with a 1.65 mile loop, frisbee golf course, several softball and soccer fields. Just a decent local park near my Sister's place.

Go figure
Hey everyone. Just a quick second to post here...I did 14.06 miles, including 5x3 minute hill repeats. I'm absolutely exhausted. Of course, when I looked at my rolling totals, I saw that I've run 103.9 miles in the last 7 days. That may have something to do with it! I'd like to hit 100 miles for this week, but after that I'm going to start being more reasonable with my mileage. I don't see any real purpose or benefit for me to be that high, and I think I'll be much better served keeping it in the 80-90 range during non-cutback weeks.
Catch you all later! Happy Friday!!!
Trying to find some more hay to restock the barn
Yeah, 80-90 works great for me bahahaha!
Totally cool man, wow! Some of the peeps in the dailies are truly talented...well, we all are, in our own special way!
X, it's one of those unquantifiable things that you have to just believe in right? Like, if you're not being x-rayed or in physical therapy, it must be working. At least that is how I am looking at it.
Hey PJM! Enjoy the run in the sun!
Dan, do the small one, and go win the thing!
Got a free swim analysis this morning, my form is good I am just losing a lot of time as I come up to far for air and losing time because of it. I do six strokes then come up for air, was told if I did just 4 strokes I wouldn't have to come up as far and I wouldn't lose as much time. But the rest of my form looked good, he told me I might want to raise my legs a little and get a little more kick but if I adjust my breathing I would trim a ton of time.
Did 2250 meters, 90 laps, and made them throw me out of the pool for a swim meet wanted to get 2500 in oh well.
Reading the workout exhausts me too, ha! I thought the one without rest days was me!

Do you even take rest days?
Ball of Fury
Last I checked, Docket's idea of a rest day was kickboxing class!
PRs: 5K 22:59, 10K 46:54,HM: 1:51:15
AmiK is right. The last rest day I took was Monday but only because I could not breathe. That is somewhat important, no?

Diz, have you ever gone to any swim clinics or tried to find any tri-club practices? Mostly those folks are
very welcoming and have a lot of knowledge.
You shouldn't have to "come up for air" or lift your head. You should be breathing to the side when your
body rolls as a natural part of the stroke with no interruption in the stroke rhythm for breathing. Bilateral
breathing on every 3rd stroke is the ideal way to learn, then adjust as necessary during a race.
Your legs will drop automatically if you lift your head out of the water, especially if you lift it to the front.
So learning proper breathing technique will also help prevent the legs dropping.
Lots of youtube videos available on proper form and this is also a great site for swimming information.

5.09 in 49:54 at lunch (avg pace 9:48). It was gorgeous out! And it looks like I'm getting more and more comfortable with my <10:00 pace. I'm in love with this run today.
Do you even run?
Nope!! Between running/swimming and the bike trainer in the basement (and often two of those
workouts in the same day) today is my 2nd day off since January 5th!
And only because I have swim clinic at 7am tomorrow, followed by a group run at 10am. After both
swimming and running yesterday in a 3 hours span, I figured I would rest today.
Although I'm not enjoying it!LOL
