Wednesday Penguins are running up a storm!! (Read 8 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Or at least I drove through quite the thunderstorm last night on the way home from rehearsal.  Pitch black outside, of course, except for these mondo lightning flashes, and enough rain that everybody slowed down from 75 to 55 on the interstate.  Luckily it wasn't a huge storm, so I was out from under it in 10 minutes or so.  Too bad it only got muggier afterwards!!

      Return To Racing

Stay cool HsM.  4.0 for us run/walking.  DP is still 71. No storms here yet, but I broke down and started watering the grass.

        From the Internet.

          Hi pens!

Stayed up too late getting hooked on a show called Mr. Robot last night. Today's planned long run became 5 super easy (probably the lowest heart rate I've ever seen for a whole run, hooray developing aerobic base!), and tomorrow morning will be 16. Works out better anyway, DH takes a later train tomorrow so I can get up at 5 AM instead of 4.

              Sorry you're feeling cross, PAD!!

              Brilliant

                Hello Penguins,

I've been MIA lately (both from running and the forum).  Anyway, I ran 5.3 this morning.  I'll have to come up with a new workout called "pokerun" because I had the Pokemon Go app open and I did a lot of walking and catching critters.   When I was about a mile from my house I thought "I will never get home if I don't put this thing away!" so I put the phone in my pocket.  My pace for my first 4.3 miles was 13:04 and that last mile was 10:56; what a difference.
