Barking Mad To Run

Of course, I am far from being outraged at what Self did. In fact, I would have laughed had I not known the story behind it. But if I were the woman whose picture was used in the issue, I'd be pretty pissed off too.

Agreed.  Nothing wrong with poking fun at yourself once in a while, a sense of humor can help keep you going too.  If they had told her up front what kind of story they had in mind and she had agreed, it would have been a whole different thing.  Nope, they just blind-sided her.

This lady loves dressing up in every race, I don't think I've met her but I am sure she is a fiery ole thing Smile

Then this one of her this year's Run of Luck 7k

Yes, and also a multi-time finisher at both Badwater and Western States.

based on the single pic it's hard to tell, but I'd probably vote hot for wonderwoman.

                        Not for the leprechaun.

                        Not for the patriotic gal.

                        Not for Keith.

Technically, the leprechaun and patriotic gal are the same ladies and the fact that she has great legs for her age probably says she was one hell of a looker in her day. She's a sweet heart too.

And what about Superwoman? The girl next to Wonderwoman?

Oh, I officially change my vote on wonderwoman to, Meh, because she's using a handheld at a marathon with aid stations every 1.08 miles.

mta: seriously, I just looked at the course again. There are 24 official aid stations! The farthest you had to run without an A.S. is the first two miles. After that, nothing is further apart than a mile.
