Top O'the Tuesday, Penguins! (Read 16 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Hiya, Penguins!  I broke a nail this morning, which is pretty much the biggest news I have for today.  Woo-hoo!!  Instrument is all fixed, now it's back to getting stuff done.  How about y'all?

Morning. I have Pilates and weights.  I am tired because I didn't sleep except for an hour (maybe).  Sigh.

        HopeMom, RIP, nail.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

D - Pain, stress or cats?  Sorry you didn't sleep.

HM - I'm glad the instrument is fixed.  Enjoy your day.

AFM:  I have 5 or so today.  This is a cutback week and I always feel guilty doing less than usual, but my legs are tired, so I also feel guilty if I do more than the plan says. Since I don't actually rest on my rest days, cutting back seems like a smart thing to do.

Running around all over the place here. All nails intact.

Ginny, enjoy the cutback week! You worked hard last week.

I had a nice run with the dogs and the Monday group last night. A good run always follows a bad one, right?

Today I am meeting a friend for moral support as she runs intervals. But I will let not run any intervals! We can run recoveries together. Smile That is more my speed.

              From the Internet.

                Hi pens!

7 miles AM/4 miles PM. Felt better on the second run than the first, so I guess that's why it's good to split the easy/recovery miles up sometimes. Technically going to be my biggest week ever (aiming for 66, may end up a little over - I've had a few rolling 7 day totals in this range when I had Sunday long followed by Saturday long weeks), and I have like 7-8 more similar mileage weeks ahead of me before the marathon!
