Everyone's Happy When FRIDAILIES Walk By (Read 37 times)

    You know it.

I'm on my way to the gym for an hour on the TM.

Just sitting doing my caffeine thizzle fo shizzle, until it's time to hit the treadmizzle.

        Good morning dailies

Basaya - I like the "Wizard" reference  !

LRB - I'm in the middle of a cup myself!

I am on the mend from smashing my heel on the basement stairs . Nothing like a raw spot right where your shoe rubs.

I'm so vegetarian I don't even eat animal crackers!

Hey, hey, hey, Rick. I'm merely precaffeinated. I'm almost at the station with the Dunks. Have fun in the TM.

Gustav, I'm impressed that you caught that I hope that your heel feels OK soon.

Basaya - It's fun to belt that one out at a karaoke bar - it "purges" theTaylor Swift from everyone's ears!

              I prefer "Wasted Years".

Gustav, I'm impressed that you caught that...

                +1

Uh oh, my spine is starting to tingle.  My engine will be revving up here shortly!

Effityeffeffeff. I am not happy. I had to stop after a quarter of a mile to use Albuterol.

                  Take two after work, hopefully.

I feel worse than Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday combined. There will be no running tonight and none this weekend as well. Actually, this could be my last entry in the dailies, as I hope that today is the day I die. The hammer is looking mighty tempting right now. One good shot on my forehead to help relieve the pain and all will be so much better after.

Fear not. I'm still feverish. :-)

P.S. Zelanie, I read your post from last night. It is something that makes us think deep. Thanks a lot for sharing the story.

Basya - Hope you can run tonight. I am in awe of those of you who push through asthma to run.
Lily - REST! Sending good thoughts and virtual chicken soup and OJ your way.

I'll run later this morning, at least 5, maybe up to 10, depending on how I feel. We're back in the deep freeze for the day. Massage scheduled this afternoon. Then I need to go to a visitation tonight for our neighbor who lost her battle to cancer last weekend. She was only 35. Her daughter is 8 and in the same grade as my son, and today is her son's 6th birthday.

20,000 miles behind me, the world still to see.

The flu this year is really bad - two of my friend's coworkers have been hospitalized because of it.  Please see a doctor if you need to!

Julie, sorry you're feeling like crap Sad apparently the flu has been pretty strong this season, luckily my house has only been hit by the stomach bug back in December.

                              Barking Mad To Run

AFM:  I got nice stories from my run yesterday!

I got off work early yesterday, then after my appointment ran at Randolph Air Force Base.  Weather was very sunny, about 62 degrees, bright blue skies, but that wind was blowing at about 25 mph, making for quite the workout the times I was running right into it. Even so, it was a beautiful day for a run/walk and, because I was out there a bit earlier than I usually am, I got to enjoy watching all the pilot-training jets taking off and flying over me.

I was pretty much alone out there on the Randolph running trail, except for 2 other runners I encountered, so it was like I had my own flying escort as I ran along, lo, with these jets flying overhead.   Probably a good thing I did encounter another runner at one point though,  because the trail goes over part of the flightline and at that point I was looking down at my watch.  So I didn't notice the red light on the barrier had gone on.  Which means STOP AND WAIT!   Luckily a runner behind me was close enough to me to grab my shirt and give it a pull, making me stop and look around...and he pointed...and when I looked back at the flight line, a jet was coming, taxi-ing down the flight line, and went right past us.  Whoa!  Very cool!  But glad the guy stopped me or I might have been some 'sticky stuff' on jet wheels, lol.     Well, these training jets are pretty small aircraft, but even so...

The other person I encountered was a little lady, maybe about my age, or a bit older.   We ran together for a bit, then I'd stop for my walk break, she would go ahead, I'd catch up and pass her, she'd catch up again.   At the end of the running trail you can go the 'long way' back to the gym by taking the road or turn around and go back on the trail, which is the shorter way.  I took the long way, the lady took the shorter way.  So when I eventually got back to the trail again, she was now way ahead of me, about 1/4 mile or so.  I decided to see if I could catch her before she got to the start/finish area of the trail, and gave chase.  She did finish before be but I'd closed the gap to about 40 yards when she got to the finish, so a nice strong finish for me.  Now the thing about this lady - she ran barefoot the whole time.  I had a nice chat with her after we both got back to the base gym.  Very nice lady and it was fun running with her.

Beautiful weather, my own flying show, a nice "chase" with a very nice lady, a jet encounter and, because I took the longer route back to the gym, I also got to enjoy running by the water canal area out there - the course also goes by the base golf course - that has a spraying fountain, ducks, geese, etc, in the water, picnic table areas, and so forth..very scenic and pleasant. A very nice outing at the Air Force Base, a very enjoyable run/walk!

Today is a rest day and I will pick up my packet for my 5K this weekend, which happens to be on Sunday morning.   For once, I have no race on Saturday for a change.
