PADRunner

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

Yesterday was a RD. 5 tempo done today.

Morning, Penguins!!  Chorus rehearsal tonight, and I'll have to drive myself, because DH is having dinner with his volunteer buddies.  They pick up donated furniture and deliver it to families in need.  It's a nice thing, lets DH use his furniture-moving experience, and gives him a group of guy friends.  So tonight I drive solo!

        PAD -- woo-hoo for your 5 done!!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

          Barking Mad To Run

Had a busy last couple of running days.  Tuesday, ran after work, it was 92 flippin' degrees.  Guess I am getting used to it after so many years in Texas, I did okay.  Lots of hills and ended up with 5.2 miles.

Wednesday went to Lackland Air Force Base and did 3.3 miles.   Again, it was 92 degrees.  The flippin' wind was also gusting up to 30 mph, good grief.  I climbed up and over 4 pedestrian overpasses on the base and the wind was CRAZY at the top of each.

Today will be an easy run somewhere. Maybe some soft  trails at a local park. And definitely flat today!

PAD - good job on the tempo - track or TM?

              D - safe travels.

              HopesMom - enjoy your rehearsal.

Scott - that's too hot for me. Good work.

I did 6 windy hilly miles today. Not a lot of fun since I was having trouble breathing.  I'll be happy when people have finished putting the spring herbicide fertilizers on their lawns.  They get to me, badly.
