Rainy Saturdailies (Read 46 times)

RAIN DOWN ON US WITH THE FURY OF 10,000 ANGRY SATANS!  Really though we need rain, so let it rain.  I have to run in this later too.  But right now I am at WORK signing off on the system upgrade we've been working on since 1910.  So, I say to all you fine folks on this Saturday, wake up already.

Yo, Baboon, don't work too hard.

I'll be running a bit today. Anywhere between 1/2 mile and 5 miles. Easy effort, no idea what pace that'll translate to. I don't want it to feel like work. No reason to. Just get my legs moving a bit.

We have rain and thunder as well, as the hurricane continues coming here.  GTFO, Matthew.

I have Pilates in a few, Barre class after that and maybe a run later.

          Hi.

My log indicates I have run zero miles for October. I need to get out and do something about that, which will probably be a slow jog on the trail in Rochester.

And in other insignificant mews, I did adductor leg lifts Thursday night for the first time post injury (about a year).

This was really huge as during rehab, I was never actually able to get my muscles to fire to the point where I could even lift my leg an inch off the floor. I eventually gave up even trying them it was so damned disheartening.

I am not even sure what made me try them Thursday, but I ended up doing two good sets on both sides. Now my groin has all sorts of DOMS going on and shit, but me likey.

              Good morning!

I ran 12 at 55F with overcast skies.  I liked it, but it really kicked my ass.  I am tired, but in a good way Smile.

              Have a great day folks!

Ran 6. Cardio felt good. When I started to feel something in the knee I headed back. Felt the run in my hips and groin going in the bath tub (shower is there) so I guess I did enough.

Well, that blew ass.... that was a horrific, terrible crash and burn disaster

Everything was going well for the first 5 miles, I was staying ahead of the 1:50:00 pacer (corals had two minutes apart at the start, I should've started at the back of the 1:40:00 coral). And then at mile 7 they caught up with me, my legs started to feel shot.... this new route had the first 8.5 miles on concrete which always beat the shit out of my legs.

From mile 8 and on, it was just an ugly sight as the 1:50:00 pacer slowly got further away. Every time I wanted to stop and walk, someone would push me on, but I really wanted to find a big bush........ my stomach had declared mutiny....

Suffice to say, I missed all my goals but the very last... desperate one, to finish under 2 hours.

                    My time was 1:57:36

My legs are shot, they haven't hurt like this in a long time...... I fear one wrong move and they'll lock up.

I blew it....... I'm going to go and have my self-pity party now, and just mope through the day damn it.

I ran 8 in a rainy mist. Now I'm stuck in traffic trying to get home to get out of this wet clingy crap.

Yep, your first mile was at 5k PR pace, and the next 2 were faster than 10k PR pace. That'll do it.
