"the researchers did not determine how and why the runners and non-runners died"

Kind of important, don't you think?  Especially if you're trying to determine whether or not running (and the duration/speed of said running) has an effect on lifespan?

The (Supposed) Dangers of Running Too Much

The results suggest that the “optimal dose of jogging is light, and strenuous joggers and sedentary non-joggers have similar mortality rates,”

I approve of this message, especially after a set of 12 x 400's at mile pace.

I especially identify with "plodding joggers". I must be going to live a very long life.

Not sure where this puts me. I ran 200+ miles in Jan. 12-13mm. I had a checkup Tuesday, 48 resting HR and the Dr. said excellent blood results.

I've got sonograms next week to check on the PAD.

Pad- nice miles. 48 is a super cool RHR! Mine is around mid 50s maybe one day I will break into the 40s
