Runner forfiets race over bib number (Read 191 times)

I find it ironic that any runner would complain about evangelism.  As if everyone on our Facebook newsfeed wants to hear about our running, and shoe porn.  I love running, but it's pretty trivial in my life compared to my faith.  I know, I know, it's not you.  You don't talk about your running around disinterested non-runners.  You never discuss fitness with anyone who didn't seek out that info.  I'm talking about that other runner.

That's why I mostly talk running in closed groups of like minded individuals.

Most people on my feed hear a peep very rarely, such as after a major goal race or something.

I would say both are as annoying.

Most of my FB friends are runners so I don't mind that stuff. My HS President is running for office and someone clicked like to some endorsement which I did as well but forgot that would go to everyone I know. As soon as I clicked like it dawned on me how FB works.

yeah, but isn't that the same as when you discuss your faith with people with similar beliefs?  It becomes annoying when you just talk about your faith or running to people that don't give a damn.  Pun intended.

I agree which is why I shuddered after hitting like. I like the guy a lot but didn't mean to do that. I'm on day 10 in FB so still have a lot to learn.

I tend to listen to topics that I typically wouldn't care about, because I care about the person.  I'm not easily annoyed.  I'm a curious person.  I find other cultures, beliefs and activities fascinating.  I think my friends are the same way.

I am the same.  I was just talking generally.  If I said what I think all the time (about people's posts) I would have no friends at all! Big grin

                Dad on the run.

Calling someone homophobic simply because he does not beleive in gay mariage is unfair. My relegious beleifs teaches that homosexuality is a sin, that doesn't make me homophobic (nor does it make me uneducated, so before you play that card understand I'm not here bashing what you believe/don't believe). In fact I have friends/family that are gay, just because I don't agree with their lifestyle doesn't make me afraid of them, we understand each other's beleifs and that's a topic we just don't bring up. In fact I had a manager that was gay and wore a wedding ring and I would joke around with him about how he couldn't handle me... Despite what some people think, not everyone has to be created to all believe the same things and worship the same God/gods.

I have been to churches (I won't mention the denomination) that will stand up on the pulpit and poke fun of gays calling them names and such. I don't, nor would I ever agree with this type of slandering.

I believe God gave everyone the freedom of choice, right or wrong, and who am I to call anyone out on that?

Homosexuality is not a choice or a lifestyle.

Again, difference in opinions and how/what a person believes. Lets just agree to disagree. I didn't post just to argue.

I'm trying to understand the sigh. You sigh as if I should somehow agree with you, but if that is the case doesn't that make you as bad as the "faith beleivers" that try to push their beleifs down your throat? If that isn't the case for the sigh then I appologize.

I think that everyone should be free to believe whatever they want, so long as that belief, or practice of, doesn't infringe upon someone else's rights.

FWIW, I'm an atheist who celebrates Christmas, chew on that for a bit. Big grin
