SaturDAILIES: Hurry up and wait (Read 42 times)

LRB

    'Sup, yo.

It is currently zero but the temps will increase about 6 degrees each hour until about 11:00 AM. From that point the warmup will slow and we will top out at 22 degrees between 1:00 and 2:00 PM.

That is way too late to run but right now it is way too cold so here I sit, waiting for some middle ground.

So what's on your agenda today running or otherwise?

I actually woke up tired, feeling like I didn't get any sleep and then looking at the temp saying 19 degrees with a feels like 11, I really didn't want to go outside. I originally told myself I would just attempt 3-4 miles and be done, then around mile 3 figured I'd aim for 6 but by the time I reached mile 6 I thought what the hell I'll go for 8 miles if my legs are willing Smile

13 miles with 2x4m at HMP+10 seconds or so. My pacing left something to be desired, but I'll take it. Now off to coach some basketball. Hope the kids don't mind if I sit. Lol

Heading out shortly for 8 frigid miles. Slow because I'm running with a friend and for whatever reason I'm always slower when i run with someone.

I hope it warms up tomorrow because i have 15 on schedule and while i can do it,  I really don't want to do them on the tm.

Do you usually end up talking with others when running?  Or going their pace. ...

Putzing around the house, doing domestic things.  I might go out this afternoon, but I developed a sharp pain on the inside of my ankle last night.  It doesn't hurt now, but I might go .1 and decide to bag it.

Does anyone else find that running a different time of day is harder?  I typically run in the morning, though not early.  9-ish, maybe.  Lately I've been going in the afternoons, and it just seems so much harder.  You'd think it would be easier after moving around all day.  It's not like I'm trying to run after chopping wood or anything, but dang.  Yesterday I got less than 2 miles and felt tired.  I slowed down and finished 4, but it shouldn't have been that hard.

Yes. I think evening runners find it hard to run in the morning and morning runners find it difficult to run in the evenings. Unless you are Boon, who seems to run just fine anytime of the day.

Speaking of him, I was hoping for some updates on his race but I gotta get out of here and over to the park to run. It is currently 8 flippin' degrees and in no hurry to get warmer. Fark.

If it is an easy run, I normally don't mind if I have to run it in the afternoon but after a whole day of chasing a toddler around and work I do not look forward to runs that are more than 5 miles or are supposed to be hard effort.

Oh gawd... I have to run... The thought makes me want to puke. When it starts feeling like a chore, maybe it's time for a new hobby. Macramé? Mall walking? Bingo? So many tempting options at the moment.

No run today. PT appt today so maybe a few miles tomorrow. Hopefully it's not a stress fracture.

Ran for 1:45 easy (about 12 miles) with 8 strides this morning. On the coldish side but the streets and the sidewalks are nice, so an easy pace effort is actually easy pace speed.
