Week 38 Penguins ... are Batman! 9/18-9/24 (Read 3 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Today is Batman Day, along with a ton of other days, like National Clean Up Day, National Respect Day, National Gymnastics Day, National Dance Day ... and the list goes on, apparently today is very popular!  Today is also my sister's birthday, so she's officially three years older than I am for the next 10 days.  Which I think makes her 51?  I can never remember my own age, and then there's math.  Not that adding 2 should be all that hard, but I think a lot during the week, so my brain shuts down on weekends.

Today is cheesecake day -- my chorus is having its annual Spoons party on October 2nd (outdoors and vaccinated), so I'm structuring my weekends very carefully to get everything done.  And that requires that the cheesecake get made today and popped into the freezer.  Next weekend I'll need to make communion bread for the church, and also pop it into the freezer.  Then I should be able to party on the 2nd with all my commitments met.

Church choir started back this week, outdoors, and now I am realizing my need for bug spray, as I'm trying not to scratch a couple of mosquito bites.  Sigh.  Though it's a small price to pay for getting to sing!

I was supposed to get a massage today (rescheduled from last Saturday), but my therapist was sick and is still feeling a little puny, so she's taking off the rest of the month.  So I'll get started back up in October ... but not on the 2nd!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Batman Day? Also known as my anniversary. 22 years, eek.

        I have 5 and Barre.

HopesMom, from last week, I don't lose weight either no matter what I cut or not. LOL.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

HM - happy almost birthday, even if you can't remember which one. I'm glad you're getting to sing again. Are your smaller groups meeting regularly now?
