I ended out running 6 miles yesterday. The only other time I have 6 in the last 10 months was August 14. I should have ran another .1 mile then I would have my longest run since March 29.

        3.1 miles planned for today.

Same here. But there is over a foot of snow and an almost equal amount still to come. Treadmill later for obvious reasons.

When I go out to run, in about two hours, the windchill temp will be of about 0. It is presently a bit under that. I'll take that over icy roads or a foot of snow. I'll run about 10, easy.

              Good morning!

I did not run 20+ this morning, nor did I do any fast miles.  I ran 6.3 slow, hard miles.  We have 9" on the ground (that's a LOT of snow for this area), with some drifts knee deep on the road.  It was 18 with a windchill of about 8.  My feet got wet and cold and I said fts.  Tomorrow will be as bad, if not worse.  This week is just going to be short and slow.

I hope everyone has a great day!  Warm and safe!

.IMO you should not care about your pace when running in snow. The effort needed is much higher

.IMO you made the right call by saying fts.

I ran 5. I was really tempted to try for 6 but my injuries are just not ready for that. It is so hard resisting the temptation, but, I must....

In more positive news, the last quarter mile of the stupid thing was nice.

10 miles this morning with no snow in sight temp was about 53 or so...now after having some coffee and other treats i get to go outside and trim some hedges and use the string trimmer on some grassy patches on the side of the house that i have ignored for a couple of months...then i get to shampoo some carpets - wonderful.....have a great saturday everyone.

                          No more marathons

About 90 minutes of cross training (shoveling 14 inches of snow off the driveway) completed, and maybe another 120 to 150 more to go.  Doing it in 30 minutes increments to keep from over doing.  At this point getting the driveway done isn't going to do me much good - the road is still impassible.

                                'Morning.  RR:

                                I own a shiny, new 10K PR.  40:57.  42 second PR, 8 OA, 3 AG.

                                6:54, 6:30, 6:39, 6:41, 6:46, 6:16

25 degrees with a 10 wind chill.  It was nipply!  The cold and wind was a non-issue.  15 minute easy warm up (1.8 miles) with a couple of strides.  I felt good during the warm up.  PR was imminent.   I really executed this race well.  Lots of runners bolted ahead of me at the uphill start, but I let them go.  My opponent was the clock.  I knew mile 1 would be the hardest and the slowest.  It came in behind PR pace as expected.  From there, I went to work on that PR.  I was smart though and didn't push it too hard.  I was just trying to set myself up for a good second half.   I passed 10 people between miles 1-3, but after that I was on my own....completely alone the second half of the race.  I managed to stay pretty locked in and focused despite the guy in front me being way ahead and nearly out of sight (I am glad the course was marked).  I started to feel race-hurt around mile 4.5, at which point I picked up the effort.  Knowing the last 1.5 miles trended downhill to a fast finish, I made sure to leave enough in the tank for that final 1.5 miles, at which point I opened it up.  This is where I got the bulk of my PR.  With a quarter mile to go, I was out of gas.  No fast final kick for me, though I was happy to have just enough to come in under 41 minutes.  I walked around for a couple of minutes, then ran a 15 minute cool down (1.7 miles).

$5 no frills registration.  My award is the PR.  Happy with another non-5K AG placement though.  I did stop and pick up some celebratory noms:
