Good morning!! Whatcha got on tap today?
More rest for me, could be a contributing factor to my almost uncontrollable urge to start cussing people out. But I'm going to be a good boy and hold my tongue and focus on the positive.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Goals | sub-18 5k | sub-3 marathon 2:56:46!!
1st workout of phase 3:
4 x (5 min H w/3 min Easy). That's gonna be a real lung burner. I'll be doing them outside, too, so that in itself makes any workout a tad harder than on the indoor track.
'Sup!
I finally got some sleep after that stupid time change but strangely am not feeling particularly energetic, yet. I have a tempo run on tap this morning and hopefully will get it in gear by then.
Morning!
I have a med-LR tonight, but I might exchange it for a short recovery instead, because I'm tired. I didn't sleep well last night (running later in the evening does that to me sometimes. Must be the adrenaline).

What up ya'll?
Dtothe2nd, some tequila or rum might help you feel better. I would suggest whiskey but sometimes that can do the exact opposite
I hate this time change, it's freaking dark even at 7 AM... when the fuck is that going to change damn it
Giving my legs a rest from running, plus it is extremely foggy out. It was considerably warm in the gym this morning, warmer than I like. Focus was on the back. One hour and 20 minutes total.

Hello and Happy Humpday! I woke up tired this morning but dragged my butt to the pool with DW and swam 800 yards (16 laps) with lots of stopping. 60 minute easy run on tap after work.
Time to go sniff out some coffee...

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

Nice run/walk yesterday after work at Fort Sam Houston. 68 degrees, blue skies, cotton candy clouds, a light breeze, dewpoint in the 50s, humidity low....perfect! Did 5K along my "Dog Alley" route and played with my canine pals along the way.
Today's San Antonio weather...more of the same. A run/walk for me today around the university campus, followed by my weight training circuit.

I have a prescribed Rest day per my plan. And I need it. Lousy sleep last night. May go geocaching or for a walk by the river if hubby is feeling better.

Morning! My RP didn't show again yesterday, so I decided to focus again on my plans for world 5K domination. I did 6 x 400 @ R pace. The thought was that I wanted some experience and some confidence holding a faster-than-5K pace going into my race. The bad news is that every rep was slower than the one before. The good news is that all of them were run at a faster pace than I thought I'd be able to handle. Didn't do any other moderately paced work since I have a race on Saturday. Just jogged easy to make 8 total.
Probably do 8 easy today.
D2- Hang in there! I am right there with ya. It will pass.
Mornin' dailies!
Today's taps include The Roof - Shovel Wit and MLR Marzen.
Yep, that'll happen if you are not used to pushing intervals that hard. Nice job, Zel!
Out of court, yay!
Not sure if I mentioned I just found out one of my neighbors was in a car accident on 1/2 and has been completely paralized (I think quadraplegic) since then. She is coming home today but her husband said she is not doing well. Very sad. A lady that was full of life. They travel a lot so not seeing her for two months was not strange. Too bad that's the reason.
d2, hope you get well soon.

Legs are feeling good so I'll get out for a few miles in shorts to test 'em out - it's over 50 degrees already! Hopefully a day off and 10 hours of sleep is all they needed. I also picked up Matt Fitzgerald's Racing Weight on kindle yesterday and got through a good chunk of it already. I think this week's crash and burn is proof that I'm at a point where quality of my diet is starting to really matter if I want to both run well and get/stay lean. I really only have a few pounds of fat to lose at this point so I'm good with eating to fuel my training and just letting the weight come off at its own rate as my miles go up.
