I'd trade running for skiing any day. Have fun man.

I am ahead of schedule for my week! I don't usually run a lot on the weekends. I have the kids home and I am coaching basketball.

I'm going to end out with about 29 this week, but 13.33 of the miles were in December. This will be my highest mileage total ever. I am ramping up my mileage for a February half marathon.
Personal Bests:

Great week, Dan! Keep in mind though those 13 December miles should not be included when you post your miles for week 1. Week 1 starts on Jan 1.

I'm well on my way to 40+ this week. Of, course Mondays 6.1 won't count. But I have today's hill workout and Sundays long run (18) to go yet. I checked the 2012 in 2012 and I ended up missing my goal by about 3 MPW. I set the same goal for this year so I expect to blow it out of the water so long as my boss doesn't bury me at work again.
2013 races:
3/17 Shamrock Marathon
4/20 North Coast 24 Hour
7/27 Burning RIver 100M
8/24 Baker 50M
10/5 Oil Creek (distance to be determined)

Baboon - Have a great time on the slopes, just be careful of the "young & stupid" crowd. ! I'm somewhat jealous of you ... I used to ski a fair bit but haven't done so in almost 20 years, yikes!
DJJan - Good job on starting off the year ahead of schedule! Hope you & your team have a good game this weekend!
Dan_The_CPA - Great job on the PR monthly mileage! What HM are you running in February - is it one in your area or a destination race?
Train smart ... race smarter.
Stonebridge Half Marathon in McKinney, Texas. It is very small. There will probably be about 200 runners.
Hmmm hard to know where to post this year. I like having a weekly forum thread (whichever forum), it seems easier to chat that way than Facebook. I feel like a dork making a whole new Facebook post for everything I feel like saying.
Anyway, this won't be a great week for me. I am in the process of moving, which is a big time suck, and I have to work over the weekend. Plus, this morning I was going to go the gym and run 5 miles on the dreadmill. The bus somehow took over an hour to get there. Thank you Beijing traffic! I live 3 miles from the gym, so I could have run there faster... or walked probably, haha. Anyway, only had time to do 2.5 before work, hardly worth waking up early for.
Looks like next week we are up against "Your Pace or Mine?". Go Auhugh!!
Auhugh!!
Well I am just super excited that I won't be posting a big fat "0" this week. 7.3 so far, and the leg is still holding steady. Woohoo! I've worn a knee brace for both runs this week.
kaitlin, I was in China this past fall and spent a couple of nights in Beijing. I ventured outside for one run and was so worried about getting lost/run over that I ended up just running around the block three times! Then I got tired of getting weird looks from the same people over and over, and dodging people on the sidewalk, that I just headed back to the hotel, lol.

That pretty much sums up most of my outdoor runs over the past year of living here, haha.
Congrats on getting back to running this week! I hope you have a speedy recovery.
I have a question about your goal mileage. Do you guys have a weekly mileage goal set, so you will reach that goal or are you just running. I took a reasonable weekly mileage and multiplied it by 50, giving me a cushion. I tend to obsess about numbers and a weekly goal is helping to keep me from going crazy, I hope.

Baboon is right. Week 1 posting is only for 6 days - Tuesday-Sunday. The posting thread will go up at RW tomorrow morning. I will start a new thread here, there and everywhere (I mean FB...) for the time being and see how things go. The posting thread will stay pinned in the FB group until the deadline to make it easy to find since there seems to be very persistent little spambots over there at the moment.
Good to hear that everyone had a good first week.
Congrats to coderunner and mithrandir (and me) for all placing in their age groups at 5ks this weekend. Special shout out to coderunner for his PR.
Keep Baboon in your thoughts as he suffered a ski injury this weekend. We hope it isn't serious and that he is back on the road quickly.
Hope Babboon is okay!
congrats coderunner!
Volunteered at a 5k today. I spent 6.5 hours setting up food, cutting up bananas and oranges, pulling bib tags, handing out awards, and breaking down/cleaning up afterwards. It was a lot of fun but I am exhausted! Hoping the kids go to bed early so I can rest up for my long run!
Well wishes to Baboon!
For me right now my main issue is just figuring out how to run as much as I want to where I live, so I have a run-whenever-i-can mentality, but in past years I have always had specific weekly goals. I also tend to be a little number obsessed!
Indeed, I crashed skiing yesterday and had to be sledded off the mountain. Hurt my knee pretty good. It's swollen now and hurts like hell. I'll be calling my knee doc tomorrow and I am not optimistic. I tore the ACL in the same knee in 2009. I don't think it's the same injury, but something in there is messed up. In any case, I am assuming at least a few weeks of no running. Sorry, team. I realize I'm supposed to be one the high mileage guys on this team. I'm not happy about this.
