Cinco De Mayo Penguins (Read 5 times)

PADRunner

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

Morning, rest day yesterday and 4 this morning.

      Busy Derby weekend ahead.

      Singer who runs a smidge

Cute Cinco de Mayo Penguin!!  Well, I have just discovered that all of my instruments are due for their annual checkup/cleaning, so I've called all my vendors to get that scheduled.  I have new quartet tonight, woo-hoo!!  I know you're all waiting with bated breath to discover what our new name will be.  So am I.  A random band name generator gave me lots of laughs the other day, including these gems:

        Gaussian Tentacle

        Dried Roadkill

        Au Revoir Toes

And my personal favorite, Voodoo Mute of the Wonderless Tart.

For some reason, the other three ladies are not on board with this.

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

PAD - great Cinco de Mayo picture.  Good luck with Derby weekend.

HM - enjoy your rehearsal tonight.  I hope your singing cohorts come up with a good name for the group.

It poured all night here, keeping me awake for a couple of hours and then waking me up early.  I am very glad I hadn't yet planted the tomato and other plants we bought on Tuesday. They would have been demolished.  For once, procrastination worked in my favor. I'll do a few miles this afternoon, when it dries up a bit.

Buenas noches! (finally an excuse to speak in my native tongue, ha).  Went to Pilates and wanted to run 2-3 miles but I'm tired and my sinuses are acting up, so meh.

            PAD, good luck this weekend.

Hope, I'm partial to Au Revoir Toes.

Ginny, glad your future garden was not planted.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

The rain never did stop for long, so I did 5 on the TM.  I really wasn't in the mood, so I did a fartlek run, to keep me from falling asleep.
