When I checked my log, it was marked as private after the update.  It was public before.  I think you now need both a public log AND profile to be able to be seen by others.

Your log icon actually went MIA about a week before your marathon. I figured you marked it private, obviously, which I found odd but didn't question. It's clear now that it was the beginning of the upgrade or change to how/where log icons are viewed/located.
