Thursday Penguins, no vampires need apply!! (Read 12 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

It's National Garlic Lover's Day, so eat your garlic, don't stand too close to anyone, and enjoy the total lack of worry about vampires!!

SRD for me today, chorus rehearsal tonight.  Woo-hoo!!

        Morning, HsM!  Enjoy your rehearsal!

I have a busy day and then running afterwards.  I got my new Altras yesterday, and after running 1 mile in them, really like them so far!

          Woo-hoo for new shoes!!

3 on paved and 5 on trails. 1 mile of the trails is called EKG. It lived up to its name.

Afternoon! Ran 5 on the TM, went out to lunch (things are open here) and weights later.  Now watching this thing miss us as it goes up.

                Buelligan

My fourth run back.  I've was so miserable on the first three runs, I didn't even get to enjoy stopping.  Today I at least enjoyed the stopping part.

I also had planked salmon for the first time.  Turns out the best spice for salmon is wood.  It's been a good day.

Bueligan - I'm glad the running is getting slightly better.  I've only had planked salmon once, but it was overcooked, so not the best example.

Damaris - your weird loop back seems to be the one the forecasters are going for now, but at least it won't be a hurricane when/if it returns.  Good luck getting out on Saturday.

Pad - that sounds like a nice 8 miler, aside from the EKG

Z - I got some new shoes, but only to get hold of a shoe I know I like before the model changes. I don't need it now, so it will be a reserve. My other favorite, the one I like for long runs, has already disappeared in my wide size.

HopesMom - I hope rehearsal went well. Looks like the storm will miss you almost completely, for now.

We had company overnight, so not much sleep. (Ben gets restless when someone different is in the house, plus they woke up early to get on the road.) I'm walking a little better, so I'm hopeful I can start running again soon. I don't know whether I'll be fit to attempt the Gettysburg HM or not. Good thing I didn't have any expectations for this one.

Still nothing here.  Some wind.  It's already past WPB.
