Scott - I don't think it is major, but my right quad just wants to stay tight. It also seems to just feel weak. It is causing my knee some pain too. It has going on for about two weeks. I just need some guidance from a ortho on how to get  better. I think running the half marathon was a little too much for my body.

Dan I hope you get better soon. Smile Bummer.

    Running is my mental-Ctrl-Alt-Del.

Thanks. I don't think it is anything major. It is just nagging and lingering.

Those are the most annoying Dan. You are being smart though.

Perfect: easy is my middle name this week.  I'm shooting for GA, so 8:20-9:00ish.  Don't push me to speed up.  Big grin  I do enough of that on my own.

          11 miles @ 8:27. Nice and easy.

3 done in 30:04...........35 minute tempo run tomorrow night. The plans says run easy for 10 min, faster for 15 the another easy 10. How do I determine the fast pace? I've been doing my easy runs of 3 miles and the long run of 5 and 6 miles at about a 10:30 pace.

Thanks for the run, Ben!  11.1 miles at 8:11.  Nice and easy up until the last couple miles, when I got crazy.  If we were really running together, you could've reigned me in.  Big grin

                Battling a little cough, hope I'm not getting sick.  11.2 total....2 w/u, 6x1@6:27 pace w/0.5@8:57 R.I., 0.7 easy @8:00 pace to finish

Tempo pace is generally defined as a pace you can hold for about an hour.  For some runners, it is actually their 10k pace.  If obviously, it takes them an hour to run it.

Fuzzy, anything but that.  I just had to yell at someone today to get the hell away from me sneezing.  I don't have time to be getting sick right now with all the running I want to do, shit!

Late checking in tonight, but I did 6.2 easy miles this morning, plus a strength training class, then lunch with friends. It's our weekly "lifting and lunch" date - good for our bodies and our souls!

20,000 miles behind me, the world still to see.

I finally found the motivation tonight to take a more active role in my recovery. I am done setting on my butt and waiting to heal. Lots of leg stretching and strengthening exercises. My quad feels a little better and much looser now.

Great run! I was holding back during the last few miles, but I should have known better that you wouldn't have been able to control yourself Big grin

Amen. I've managed to avoid the sickies this winter. I'm hoping this is just a little nothing. Power of positive thinking!

outoftheblue, I'm glad that your legs are refreshed.

Beth, veeery nice. I hope that 8:27 will be my HM pace someday.

Scott, great pace. Thanks for posting your question about tempo pace. I didn't know how to calculate it; I just went with the pace stated in the plan:/

Fuzzy, nice run. I had a nasty cold when I began marathon training. Coughing. Sneezing. Runny nose. Good times. Feel well soon.

Rick, thanks for explaining what tempo pace is.

Shari, that sounds like a lot of fun!

Dan_The_CPA, I'm happy that there's something you can do to help your leg feel better.

I decided to race in the Saucony ProGrid Ride 5s. While I wear Vibrams at work all day, and love how the Altra Intuition 1.5s feel, I'm concerned about running all 26.2 hilly miles in zero-drop shoes. I've already placed the socks, shoes, underwear, clothes, Camelbak, waist pack, gels, and supplements in my suitcase. Ditto for jewelry, makeup, toiletries, and dress flats. I'm almost done packingSmile

Ab work is done. My backpack is ready for tomorrow morning, so that I'll be able to just roll out of bed and go to the gym. I have to do five miles at marathon pace.
