Singer who runs a smidge
The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)
When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run. The only thing that matters is how we have loved.
Way too hot for Docket, storms for Ginny! Luckily I'm in between, where it's not horribly hot and it's just overcast, not rainy. Woo-hoo!! Went for a "bike ride" this morning, proving that I still am nowhere near mastering this bike ride stuff. I'm reminded of a Sweet Adeline goddess, saying, "You have to be willing to suck for a while before you can be any good." So hey, I suck.
Morning! Yeah, it's too fucking hot here for 9:30am (and I should be used to this but I always get amnesia). I did not run yesterday because I was lazy but I have 5 miles tonight.

Someday I hope to be able to go in a straight line, when the road is straight. And to curve when the road curves. Somehow I keep mixing those up ...
I also suck at cycling. I once turned a corner and ran into a construction sign. This was a week post hysterectomy, so I'm glad I didn't hurt myself more. My husband is still laughing...
When I started riding a bike as a kid, the first time I turned a corner I fell into a huge prickly pear cactus. My mom had to use tape to pull all the tiny spines out of my legs. it was a long time before I rode again.
Hot and sunny here today, though it may storm later. I'll do 6 or so later when it gets either cloudy or shady.
Ok now I feel lucky I just fell over and scraped my knee a little!
