Wednesday Penguins Making The Best Of Winter (Read 25 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

Morning, Penguins!!  Today is my last working day before my university's winter closing, so for the bargain price of two days of vacation, I get two weeks off work!  I am all kinds of happy, even though the next four days will involve two Christmas performances, a massive amount of baking, laundry, packing, and an 8-hour drive to NC.  It's all good!

Gustav -- it's supposed to be 68 degrees here on Saturday.  Crazy!

    Phillie -- woo-hoo for a daylight run!!

Awood -- you are definitely up against a deadline, sir!!

Docket -- hope you feel better quickly with no actual illness!!  Sending good vibes to Trixie!!

Jerryb -- have fun at the gym!!

scotty -- what an awesome story about your new friend!!  And didn't you have this same problem with a lamp post once?

    obie -- have a good 4!!

Zelanie -- enjoy the choir concert!!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

      Afternoon Penguins!

      Gus-sounds like a nice day.

Phillie- Its' great to be outside and see where you are going.

Awood- I've found that meal planning is key for weight loss or control.  It's super hard when you are on the road a lot.  Good luck with the shopping!

      DR- fingers crossed for Trixie

Jerry- have fun at the gym.

Scotty- Glad you got to laugh and made a new friend.

      Obie- Have a good 4.

Z- enjoy the concert.  I am looking forward to school vacation too.

Ginny- You are lucky, you have sun.  I'm getting a little every now and then.

AFM- Monday I got 3 in, nothing yesterday.  I've been feeling "off".  Legs felt tired for no apparent reason.  I was wondering if I was coming down with something.  Just remembered, I got a flu shot late last week.  Gotta wonder.  Anyhow, I'm feeling better today.  I would like to get a half hour of running in before the bus brings my sugared-up kid home from school (Christmas party today).  I want to get some mileage in tomorrow too.  Racing on Saturday (5K).

Hello all. I was able to get in another small run yesterday. The runs seem to help the calf.I guess because it gets the blood pumping. The knee is still a little wonky. I think it is taking more pressure because of the calf problems. Another small run tonight.

Gustav - Glad you got you run in. I think I would have stayed inside next to my fireplace in those circumstances.

Philliefan - enjoy the daylight run. I rarely get to do that.

Awood - good luck on getting back to portion control.

Damaris - I hope you feel better soon. So sorry about Trixie.

        Jerry - enjoy your workout.

Scott - enjoy the rest day. We are having a nice, warm day too.

obie - Enjoy the run after work.

Z - enjoy the concert. It is always nice to see the little ones sing.

Ginny - have fun hiking or running.

HM - Enjoy the vacation. Our company will close down either tomorrow or Friday. We have to hit our December sales target first.

        StoneFace - Feel better soon.

Well, time for my run but the wind is howling.  I'm wimping out and heading to the treadmill.  I will look at the daylight through the window.

So sorry Phillie:-( Try to have fun on the TM. HsM- I missed you. Enjoy your vacation! Just heard from the doc's office. I had my lipids checked at last week and finally got the results. All the bad numbers were down and the good numbers are up! All this running is really impacting my health. Got 2.5 in. I'll shoot for 4 tomorrow and rest day on Friday.

StoneFence - good news with the lab report.  Nice to see concrete results (besides feeling good) for your efforts.

              HopesMom - enjoy your vacation.

Dan - I'm glad you're able to do some running, even if they are shorter than you'd like.  Hope the knee continues to improve.

I ended up with a 4.5 run outside. The sun disappeared, but I really wasn't in the mood for the TM again and I was warm enough once I got moving.  Biggest issue was the lungs on the uphill.  I ended up cupping my mouth so I could warm the air going into my lungs.
