Thursday Penguins, howling at the moon!! (Penguins howl??) (Read 5 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

It's apparently Worldwide Howl at the Moon Day.  I had a choice between that and National Mule Day, so there you go.  So if you're running in the dark (which is more likely, since it's getting dark earlier and staying dark later), why not freak out your friends and neighbors by howling at the moon?

And just to help you get in the "spirit" (see what I did there?), I'll share what I saw in the car next to me in the parking deck this morning:

Ginny, so sorry to hear about Ben!!  We ended up taking Hope out of town for treatment as well, mostly because the teaching hospital at Virginina Tech was much more affordable than the one vet in town that could handle her treatment.  Her surgery bought us a few more months ... cancer in dogs just sucks all the way around.  Hoping for better news for y'all!!

      Barking Mad To Run

Been running after work this week.  Cool front came in, days are really nice, low dew-point, low humidity.   3.8 miles on Tuesday, 3 miles yesterday, probably today around 4 miles.

Sick of all these doctor appointments too.  I am actually feeling pretty good in mind and body, but every time I go see the doc, they find something for pete's sake.  I'm scheduled for a liver biopsy, a prostate biopsy and some kind of pulmonary testing, good grief.  Oh, and a cardiology appointment next week.  Getting old is definitely not for wimps, lol.

Good grief, Scotty!!  It must suck to be feeling good and yet have all these tests to go through.

Afternoon!  I woke up with some headache, sheesh. I think it's the change in temps and pressure.  Even my new car tires are flipping out pinging like they are low when they aren't.  Miami is not used to 70F, that's for sure.

I have Pilates and 5 miles tonight.

HopesMom, yeah, howling is much interesting than mueling.

            Scotty, hoping everything works out.

Scott - I'm glad you're finally getting the medical tests you've been needing. I hope they get some answers, especially that 'all is well'.

Damaris - I hope your head feels better.

              HM - funny car decoration!

AFM: Rest day here. We spent $1200 for tests and still have no answers. At least if there is a tumor, it's still small. We're waiting for results of some bloodwork to decide the next step.
