Friday Penguins still have all their fingers and toes!! (Read 7 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

So the story behind today's thread title is from the text I got from my tech around 9:00 last night, saying that he'd cut the end of his finger on his table saw and was in the ER.  He later said it broke the bone and he was seeing a hand surgeon today, but he was going to be ok.  I'll be interested to hear the full story, but clearly he's out today.  So I've got some tunes going in the lab, and a million things to do!!  Hoping to duck out a bit early to join my chorus tonight for Putt-Putt, if it doesn't rain.

      Woo-hoo!!

I had a boss who did a lot of fine carpentry work, especially things like inlays. He did a lot of damage to his hands over the years.

It's another gray wet day, but not currently raining.  After Ben gets a walk, I'll probably do 5 or 6 miles.

        Barking Mad To Run

89 degrees and sunny when I did my run/walk after work yesterday at Fort Sam Houston.  89 was okay though because the humidity was only around 40% and the dewpoint was in the low 60s.  Actually felt pretty good out there.  Did my "Dog Alley" route and enjoyed chatting with all my neighborhood canine friends along the way. Ended up with 3.3 miles.  Today is a rest day and then I have a 5K on Saturday and a 5K on Sunday.

Lucky to have one of my fingers.  A bar girl in the Philippines nearly severed my right-hand ring finger almost all the way off...and she wasn't even aiming for me originally....her idiot boyfriend who was sitting next to me was her intended target...she missed....

            Ouch at the text, Hope.

I have 7 and weights tonight.
