Nicely done. As you now know running 26.2 miles is not a joke!

I am amazed that you were able/willing to stop and take a photograph. I usually get so locked in that I would run right past money laying on the ground (I actually did that once).

Not sure if I would thank Sly or kill him if I were you. lol

You should be extremely proud of yourself, congrats man!

    Jill.

    Penguin Power!

PAD - great job!  It was super nice of Sly to run you into the finish =D

What training plan did you use once you'd built up your base mileage?

      Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

        Thanks Everyone!

Hope it wasn't to long and boring, but it was 5 and a half hours!

D - I started using MAF the end of November. I really helped building the endurance, and kept me from over training.
sapf - I started with Higdon Intermediate 2 and adapted to my schedule, running 6 days a week.

Congratulations on now being a marathoner, and on beating your goal too. Hopefully I will join you in this select club in the fall.

Congrats on being in the .5%, PAD.  I am jealous.  Next time you will catch the granny in the stroller, for sure.

                No more marathons

From a fellow plutonian - congrats PAD.

2 days past time for a harsh case of Doms.

Will you be coming to practice? Wink

Planing on it. I am feeling it a little in my hams and quads today. It was just my calves for the first 2.

because i never shut up ... i blog

At least now I’m a .5 per-center. I looked it up, only .5% of the US population have run a marathon.

                          Congrats, marathoner!

Great job, PAD.  No idea how the HR stuff works, but it looks like you had it down, and had gas in the tank to run in with Sly.  (Cool of him to meet you and help out!)

When is your next marathon? Big grin

I just cannot fathom running 26.2 miles! Congratulations!!!!

Great race and report!  Nice surprise to see Sly when you'd forgotten about it, and just when you needed it.  Hurray for friends that keep us going.

Are you in for another?  I'm still not allowed to say the word Marathon within earshot of my hubby, but I have a secret goal. Big grin
