Monday Penguins, make your choice!! (Read 10 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Reminding myself today that every circumstance I'm in, one way or another, is the result of my own choices.  It was tough to get out of bed this morning to drive over an hour to get to a job that's currently frustrating.

I chose the field I work in, which doesn't have a lot of jobs available.

I chose this particular job over one where I held less responsibility, which was closer to our house.

I chose not to move when I chose this job.

      So suck it up, buttercup!!

And in other news, my new laptop is LIGHTNING fast!  It's ever so much fun!

Eye appointments tomorrow, where I suspect both DH and I will need new lenses.  I'm just waiting to see if they put me in bifocals.

Morning!  I have my surgeon appointment and 5 miles today.  Maybe weights too if I don't fall asleep since I haven't slept a wink since yesterday.

Hope, frustrating, I know.  Sometimes I wish I had chosen a different (insert: office, agency, career).  LOL.

HopesMom - I hope your day gets better.  I couldn't do a long commute.  Any chance you can move closer since your husband isn't working?

D - I hope the doctor's appointment went well.  Don't fall asleep in court, the judges don't like that (unless they do it themselves.)

AFM: Rest or XT day here.  I'm a bit stiff after yesterday's long run, but walking Ben should loosen me up.

I could absolutely move closer, which is why I have to keep reminding myself that it's my choice.  We live about 30 minutes east of Charlottesville, which is where our church and my chorus is.  We live just over an hour west of my job.  So we could move a bit closer to my job and be further away from church and chorus (basically all the "life" stuff), but I wouldn't want to move very close to work -- I'd prefer to stay out in the country.  I've considered it, though I haven't considered it too seriously.  We're already 40 minutes away from our church, and we're heavily involved there (not to mention all the time I spend on chorus stuff!)

I'm not so much complaining as reminding myself I don't have grounds to complain!

Docket, any reason for the insomnia?

We walked Ben, then went to brunch, then headed out to the state forest for another walk, but it started to rain so we cut it short at 2 miles. Still, it was nice to be in the woods.

I suffer from insomnia from time to time but it's happening more often on Sundays.  Mondays are a drag.
