Monday Penguins are waking up slowly!! (Read 10 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

So my weekend was a little nuts, but not too bad.  We did our early Saturday run, then I met up with my chorus director to take my Analytical Listening Skills test.  Unfortunately it turned out she had the paper test to take, but not the CD that went with it.  So we spent two hours listening to the sample test and going over the results, then chatting about the chorus in general.  Then it was scurry home and do laundry, then church on Sunday, then a chorus management team meeting which took up the rest of Sunday afternoon.  We're fairly efficient in our meetings, but it still takes about three hours, especially when you throw in the fact that our Team is also trying to work up a song to sing in our show in February.  Woo-hoo!!

Run this morning was what the Master's forum calls a "paper bag run".  The sort of run with no energy, slow, pathetic, you just want to put a paper bag over your head and pretend it's not actually you out there.  But hey, it got done!

Morning.  I have 7 miles tonight.

Hope, sounds like an exhausting weekend.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

13 this morning. It was 67 and light rain at the start. Didn't want to waste it!

Pad - we have the same kind of weather here this morning - more mist than rain though. I got soaked walking the dog. I don't think I'd want to do two plus hours in it.

HopesMom - a very busy weekend for you.  Good job getting the slog done when you weren't feeling it.

Damaris - I hope your seven go well.

I'll probably take a rest day today. I don't especially want to run in the rain and I really don't want to do the TM today (It's acting up again, with really erratic paces for the first couple of miles so I have to hold on with one hand to keep from falling off.)

I have those paper bag runs too, HsM.. maybe I should follow the Masters forum if they're not too young for me.

              Have a good 7 tonight D.

Great start of the playoffs, PAD.

              Have a good RD, Ginny.

6 on the new extension of our bike path. Much cooler but still in short sleeves.
