Damaris, N Alabama has decent weather.

Jack, To be honest, I am as ready as I can be for all that's happened the last 3 months. I feel very under trained. Today I am rested...... last week was only 12 miles, and this week, so far, 3. That's some serious taper, huh? I'm sure I'll finish, but not very confident in what condition. The temp is calling for 33 degrees with 100% chance of rain in the morning, then mid to high 40's by noon.

You'll finish based upon your training prior to the injury or malaise.  Maybe not at PR pace but you will!

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

Do what you can. Maybe slow down your GMP? Bummer about the rain.

You guys are chatty when I'm not around.  Temps have been ridiculously low.  Did my tempo run on the treadmill tonight.

I put everything in the thread I started about pacing. With all the input of the more experienced marathoners, I will look for 4:20-4:25. I do believe that with a good training cycle, life not always in an upswing, work slower, that I could easily target a 4:00-4:05. But that's all yet to be decided.

Waiting for DW to come home so I can go out and run in the snow. It is 10F out. Hopefully no wind. I'll take a jacket. The boy is already in bed, all his homework done, and ice cream for his dessert.

Ginny, last night was one off due to some system issues and waiting for French to fix. That took a while. But then, system issues happens once every two months. Pfft.

              Mitch, good luck.

I only got 0.11 miles before the knee started hurting. I will try again Monday. If I can't run Monday, then I will make an ortho appointment.

                    on my way to badass

3 miles today. I ran on the road to try and keep my feet dry. The hills on the road are longer and steeper. Damaris- so glad you are getting Trixie back home.

Still waiting for the perfect race picture. 5K PR-33:52 , 10K PR 1:11:16, First HM 2:42:28

2 miles. I decided early that 10F was cold on my lungs. Pushed the pace to 13:00 each mile. Good 26 minute workout in 2" to 3" snow over the hardpack trail. Can't wait till a dry ground run in 40F weather, that would be dreamy Smile
