WednesDAILIES: We Got What You Need (Read 62 times)

Chairman

Sarah, yes, I may have noticed the eating more and feeling more hungry before. Kind of counter intuitive.

Basya, the fog wasn't a big deal, but it was pretty muggy, which is unpleasant with the warmer temperatures we got today.

      Good morning, dailies:

Rick - "Hello Small Fryes?  I'd like 2 orders of sugar, a salt, and one large caffeine, please, hold the grease"

Gustav - good luck dodging the tstorms

Basya - enjoy the tempo miles

Beth - good to be prepared for anything

Kay - that's some coffee porn headed  in the right direction

NotScott - have fun with your "flu".  I have off on the best weather day of the week, for once.

Luke - have a good one too

D - is it for a specific allergy, or just everything?

flarunner - your spring days are probably a bit nicer than what will pass for spring in Buffalo

      Heidi - lucky 13

Kristin - nice job on the "race day"

      Jedi - good recovery

Bruce - vote for in the snow

Lily - We usually eat sometime around 7:30 as well.  Sometimes I run before, sometimes after, depending on my schedule.  DW normally goes right to bed after eating though, since she works 6a-2p

scrape. - good work on the fog run, still a bit murky here as well.  At least it's not the hand and lip cracking dry air that was around with the single digits.

kristin - glad the knee is ok

Dave - I envy you guys who not only get a lunch, but get to run on it.

Sparker - it would just be the speed at which you'd try to race a mile.  If you haven't done one, guesstimating should be fine.

Sarah - I will make sure to learn something on my run today, thanks

Scotty - good to hear, keeping her in my thoughts

April - nice job in the fog

Baboon - that must be a big relief, great news.  Hoping for a full and speedy recovery for you.

Step - you have hills indoors? Wink

Lilac - have fun with the group run

Headed out for 15 rare AM miles, hopefully my new shoes are waiting on the porch when I get back.

Morning B&B! Easy 7+ miles today. Legs kinda beat up from my 400s yesterday.

LRB - read the mill section in Daniels book and what he says not all that different than workouts i am doing for 5k-15k. That is my kinda place about 3+yrs ago before is tarted running.Smile

        Kay - nice coffee

April - way to get in some speed on your 4 miler

Luke - you doing Daniels plan?

Higdon, intermediate HM plan.  I sort of picked it up and will do the last 3 weeks of it leading up to my HM on 2/17.  It just happened to work out perfect for me.

        Mostly harmless

That looks like a fun race. Have you run it before?

I have run the Frederick HM twice, 2010 and 2012. I registered for 2011 but was injured so I deferred.  I love this race.  Frederick is a nice little town and the start line is about 20 minutes from my house.

2010 was my first HM and it suuuuuuuuuuucked. I was the poster child for newbie mistakes. Woefully under-trained, went out too fast, wore the wrong socks (lots of blisters), etc....  I called my wife from the finish and swore I would never do anything like that again.  I was convinced that running anything more than a 5K was just not for me.

Since then I've run 3 more HM's and one full. I'm still slow but a little bit more educated than when i started.

I wrote a RR from the 2012 Frederick Half, if you are bored enough you could read that by following this link.

Gosh, 4 pages already. Everyone have fun on your runs, and other things and the coffee! I keep getting a coffee maker for the shop but then I get rid of it cause I have one at home........... I am seriously thinking of getting a larger thermos for my coffee so I can have more than a 16 ozer in the morning, I hate waiting until I get home to have more coffee. Anyways.......

No running today, my 5 miler yesterday went well and tomorrow I plan for a 6 mile tempo. runmomto3boys, I am jealous of you, I cannot wait for my long runs to reach 13 miles but I am taking it slow this year, right now my longs runs are up to 9, 2 more of those and I will hit 10 but with my races early this year I won't reach 11 until mid summer. I hope to hit 12 without any issues in the Fall and reach 30 mpw by the end of year (or sooner if all things go well).

Today, ab workouts, push ups and a little bit of squats. I don't want to do too much though. My push ups are now up to 25 a set which is awesome! I hope to be able to do 50 in one set here in a couple weeks.

First time for me. Been wanting to for a few yrs now, but never  matched up with my schedule. They used to have a full too, but did away with a few yrs back.

That's my next race and sort of tune-up for Frederick for me. In general how is course? Hilly/flat? Might try to come down and run course after Cburg in March.

Thanks! As for your question about the course...  I would describe it as mostly flat with some rolling hills.  The only steep(ish) hill is right at the tail end but even that isn't so bad.

I haven't run Chambersburg before.  It looks like that race is 2 weeks before my full in Virginia Beach.  I'll have to check that out for 2014.  What is the course like?

ETA: I just had a look at the elevation profile for Chambersburg.  Frederick is a piece of cake compared to that!

Scott - yeah if you like hills Cburg is your race.Smile I live 2m from start and run parts of course all the time. I have not run since 2011 and my PR (1:41:21) resided there until last fall when I PR'd at Harrisburg.(1;39:54). it's a looped course with 2 BIG hills between miles 2-3 and you see them again in miles 9-10, but course mostly rollers and not too bad, but wind can whip thru there pretty good sometimes. Last few miles are downhill-like and were my fastest miles last time I ran it. Nice shirt and race cheap at $45. Well done local race by local running club and in it's 35th year this year. Hoping for a sub1;38 this time around. Race is March 9th 1 week before Shamrock. That race is more than likely going to be my BQ race next spring unless it happens this fall, but not really counting on that. Shamrock has been on my radar for some time now too. Targeting a sub1:35 for Frederick.
