Dad on the run.
I'm at work at the moment. When I get home I will make a spreadsheet and names/addresses and order quantity. If the rate at which I am getting emails continue I am going to have my work cut out for me. I will look into setting up a payment system through paypal. I have always just used paypal to pay not get paid. As soon as I get that set up tonight I will post that information here and update the title so everyone will know to look here.

I don't get it. What does a bracelet do? Not criticizing, I honestly don't get what this does for anybody?
It's solidarity. Same as wearing t-shirts or changing your profile pic or anything else people do after a tragedy to deal with the profound sense of loss.
Mostly harmless
You could have everyone mail you a self addressed, stamped envelope with $3 in it. That would save you quite a bit of trouble.
"It doesn’t matter how often you do it or how much you accomplish, in general, not running is a lot easier than running." - Meb Keflezighi
this would probably be the easiest. We can do that if everyone is ok with that. I will reply to emails with my address.
Also 3 dollars in a minimum. Anyone who wishes to donate more may. Before money starts getting sent to me let me contact Boston officials and get a charity started. I don't want people thinking I'm trying to take advantage of a terrible situation. This is legitimate. In fact I just found out today a board member of the Birmingham Track club works here so I am going to contact him and try to get the track club involved.
Shows we're part of a family.
Anything else you want to know?
Get busy living or get busy dying.
I never do any of those things either. If I know someone affected and can help them by doing something or just be a listening ear, then that helps. But I don't get how a t-shirt or bumper sticker or bracelet or dedicating a run or sending my thoughts or any such symbolism helps.
I guess I'm too much of an engineer. Old engineer joke:
A priest, a physician, and an engineer get to the first tee for their golf game. They see guys teeing up with a guy behind them assisting them into position. "What's this about?" one asks. "It's the blind veterans golf outing" comes the answer.
"That's wonderful" says the priest. "I'll pray for these veterans".
The doctor says "There's been some amazing new developments in sight restoration. I'll get these guys a referral to a specialist".
The engineer asks "Can't these guys play at night?"

This isn't a problem to be solved. Tell the engineer part of your brain to be quiet and listen to the other part. The part that recognizes it is important for us to show each other that we are all in this together.

If you don't want one then don't get one.

Just say the word JBJ. I think $3 is fair as a minimum. Figure out how best you feel comfortable handling the money and we'll all be on board.
I know I don't represent everyone. I am not a marathoner and I was not a volunteer. But as a member of the running community and a long time Boston resident, thank you so much for your support. It feel like you all are lifting up the same people I love.
