How do, Monday Penguins? (Read 21 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

    Singer who runs a smidge

Good morning, Penguins!!  It's kind of a drizzly Monday here in the Commonwealth.  I dragged my sleepy rump out of bed for PT, and now I'm at work.  My knee has been quite a bit better these past couple of weeks, so I'll be interested to see if at my appointment tomorrow I get cleared to try to run.  More likely, I'll get cleared to try to walk.  But we'll see.  I untaped my ankle on Sunday, and it's still a bit wonky.  I basically tell it to get over itself.

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Morning. 6 miles for me tonight.

Hope, hope the ankle gets the memo.

            G'morning,

HsM - glad the PT helped the knee and hope the ankle is better soon, too!

Hi, Docket, six TM or six outside, either way I hope you enjoy!

            Nice 10, PAD!

We're back from Tahoe: SUP was amazing, and it turns out that fear of falling back into a 38 degree lake is good motivation for staying on top of the board  My legs were actually wobbly when we finished so ride/run turned into hot shower/nap. Sunset kayak was beautiful but really choppy because the wind kicked up like crazy - so, it was a great upper body/core workout. DH did well at the casinos and at different times over the weekend, I saw a rabbit, deer, and even a bear! Luckily, no snakes or I would have lost my effing ess.

Belated Happy Birthday, Lauren! Today is my birthday so I'm off work. Heading out for a short run, then pancakes, Minion movie, and our monthly couples massage tonight. Have a great day!

            I can. I will. I am.

Happy Birthday Baconista!  Sounds like a nice way to celebrate.

HopesMom - I hope you get cleared to walk and run.  Good luck.

D - enjoy your recovery run this evening.

PAD - good job on the 10 miles this morning.

It's cloudy and a bit cooler, so I think I'll do my hilly six miler if I can avoid the thunderstorms.

Haha.  There is no outside until October at least.  Except with my husband on some odd evenings.

                Tahoe sounds amazing!

                Barking Mad To Run

                  Nonrunning day today.

Fun by the lake yesterday with a 5K done there.  There was also a 15K.  I think I took a ton of photos for this one!

Saturday did a 5K too.  Smaller event than the Sunday 5K, but still fun.

Evening all. I got 5 done on the tm this morning amidst all of the packing. Now I'm in the lounge waiting for my flight. Tomorrow will probably be my rest day since transatlantic flights are terrible.

                    Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

Unscheduled rest day for me today.  After running + weights yesterday, and helping a friend move apartments, I woke up today definitely feeling more sore and tired than usual.  Tomorrow was supposed to be a rest day, but I'll move my 5 from today.
