Congrats on the PR and AG win Jay! I didn't realize the NY qualifying standards were that tough.

My running blog
Goals | sub-18 5k | sub-3 marathon 2:56:46!!
3 seconds per mile over the course of a half marathon is quite a bit. I have finished more than a couple and not thought I could have squeezed another 30 seconds out of them. Without the headwind you might have had a shot.
Short term goal: 17:59 5K
Mid term goal: 2:54:59 marathon
Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life. (I started running at age 45).

Dayum!! That was a great race Jay......I don't always want to be left vomiting all over myself at the end of a race. Exhausted, yes. Sick and on the verge of collapse, not so much!!!
Those NYCQ times are REEEEEEEEEEEEEDONKulous!!!!!!
Randy
Congrats Jay. Helluva effort just two weeks past a sub 3 at Boston. I paced a 1/2 yesterday and could still feel that course in the legs.
Good luck in the next attempt at NYCQ.

What, you're not thinking the 2:58 in October?

What LIly & George said: Considering your last month, setting a PR is incredible! Taper and that NYCQ is yours.
20,000 miles behind me, the world still to see.
For the price of gas? Hell yes!

Nice Jay, very nice.
I hear you about feeling like you left some in the race, but that is a fine PR and a fine time.
Don't call me Buttercup!
Wow! To me, that's a fantastically amazing time. I'm sorry you were disappointed with it, but I get it. 31 seconds over the course of a HM is practically nothing, so I can see your frustration. Still. Congrats on the PR and the AG win!
Slow and steady wins the.... wait a second! I've been lied to!
