Singer who runs a smidge
The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)
When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run. The only thing that matters is how we have loved.
I heard from my friend near Tampa that they're getting a lot of wind and rain, but not doing too badly. Will keep an eye on my friends in Georgia ... how are you, Docket? Hopefully in a position to say "I told you so" to your DH!!
Did my run/walk with Dusty and DH this morning, in quite fall-like temps. I dunno what it was, but I had on capris and a long-sleeve shirt and was comfy.
Tipping my hat to Florida for keeping the power on in so many places. Meanwhile, ours went out for 15 hours yesterday. Gotta check the freezer when I get home to see how stuff fared.
We have surprise houseguests staying with us for the next 3 weeks, plus this weekend I had to paint the trim on the house since the HOA is on our case. Today was going to be focus on getting back to running, but the smoke is coming back. I'll check the air before I go out later.

We had power until this morning. They are working on the grid and we have to pay for it. Bah.
5 to run if I have power. Not going outside in 103F and a curfew at 7pm.

AFM: Rest day here. It's Jim's birthday, so we went for a short hike in the state forest. It was a beautiful day, with some autumn color already. It was a good walk.
