morning 3.7, noon 1.7
Flats first, then run/walk 3 short steepish hills for both…now heading for poolmix.
Yesterday afternoon I did discover that I had a quarter size ‘knot’ next to the right shoulder blade while doing a cockamamie stretch: sit on the edge of a chair and reach down over the left leg with both hands like you are trying to pick something up off the floor. The first half dozen times the knot stung when I did it but that slowly faded; this morning just a little general tightness.

I'll be lucky to make it to the 3rd inning...
Yeah coverage starts at 8:00 but who the hell knows when the first pitch actually is. I'd be surprised if it is before 8:20. I see myself waking up at 2:00 AM to check the results, assuming the game will be over by then. These two teams see a lot of pitches. Too bad the Red Sox needed to use Chris Sale the other day because he's one of the fastest working pitchers in baseball.

Super B****
I just watched the course overview the BAA posted on Instagram, and I realized that 26.2 miles is a really ****ing long way to go. Why do I do this, again?!

Just got an alert from Chicago Marathon that it is now a Yellow Flag or "less than ideal conditions". Yay.
RoS: ugh. Clearly running in the MSP region is bad luck, so I stuck to the hotel treadmill. I didn't see an obvious place to run outside. I'm gonna find something tomorrow, because it's beautiful outdoor running weather plus I have a tempo run. This morning I set my alarm for 5:45 local time, which was 3:45 for my body. Ugh. Treadmilled for 6.8 miles; I ran out of time, and came up 8 minutes short on my scheduled workout. Another demerit from Coach McMillan!
Dave
Oh fuck, David Montgomery is out for 3-5 weeks. He's pretty much the Bears' whole offense.
Are we there, yet?
It's not as bad as it sounds. With the next three games against the Raiders, Packers, and Buccaneers, I doubt having him on the field would make much difference.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
hey there. 0.25mi into my run, I stepped onto a walnut and totally face planted. I sprained my ankle, banged up my knee, and had to call my husband to come pick me up. I'm now on the couch icing it. MF'er. I also shattered my iPhone screen. Looks like I'll be taking a break from running til I'm able to put weight on it again. Sigh.
Damn, hopefully you heal quickly!
Tuesday was indeed the day for wipe outs as I fell on a job-site while at work yesterday, in spectacular fashion of course (yes, there were witnesses!). I was able to throw the iPad and phone I was carrying however and break my fall, otherwise, it would've been lights out. My left hand took the brunt of it and thankfully both of my devices were in protective cases that held up. That sucks about your phone.

Ouch.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.
