I find it so hard to put a playlist together, just too many songs to choose for me. When I do run with music I have lately used Songza. There's a Metallica channel that rocks the run?

I started a blog about running :) Check it out if you care to

Some random stuff of the non-EDM variety:

Led Zeppelin - The Rover , Hots on for Nowhere , Ozone Baby

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground

Garbage - Lick the Pavement , I Just Wanna Have Something To Do

The Clash - Police on My Back

The Suicide Machines - New Girl

          Mostly harmless

Most of the stuff I listen to is a bit obscure. I tend to favor old progressive rock or newer stuff that sounds like old progressive rock.  On the top of my play list right now is Steven Wilson's "The Raven that Refused to Sing, and Other Stories".  The first track on that album, Luminol, really kicks ass.  Thanks to the internet, you can hear the entire album for free if you are so inclined.

"It doesn’t matter how often you do it or how much you accomplish, in general, not running is a lot easier than running." - Meb Keflezighi

sometimes I listen to upbeat country type stuff, sometimes its Tupac radio on pandora, others its the wagon wheel radio (The old crow medicine show).

”Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.”

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.”

Reggaetón, all the way.  With some ACDC in between.

                Damaris

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

The Rocky Music (Eye of the Tiger etc) get me moving anytime. There are some disco songs on my running playlist because of the beat. Specific songs like :

                  Run Runaway by Slade

                  Ready to Go by Republica

                  Urgent by Foreigner

Shady Esperado by Stephen Kellogg (Western MA band but I love the song)

Ready to Go by Panic at the Disco

                  Luke79

Basya, I agree with Pantera - Fucking Hostile all the way.

                    Some highlights:

                    Chevelle - Panic Prone

Lamb of God - Now You've Got Something to Die For

Incubus - A Kiss to Send Us Off

                    Muse - Uprising

                    Foo Fighters - Generator

I like some different music styles, but mostly alternative or heavy rock with a steady, driving feel is good for running IMO.
