I'll bet it was really gratifying to catch that obnoxious girl in the green. And spectators have no concept of time, pace, distance or what it takes to catch and pass another runner ahead of you. I might listen to a runner cooling down after the race, but I ignore the spectators. Congrats on a terrific race.
