Barking Mad To Run
So when I did my San Antonio Riverwalk run/walk on April 7th after work, I took my new camera that I won in a raffle and played around with it, taking some photos of some of what I see when I do my Riverwalk outings. So here are the photos - they came out pretty nice - and hopefully all of you winter folks who are still waiting for the real Spring to come will enjoy some views of sunshine, water, etc. During this run/walk it was 85 degrees and sunny for me.
I started out on the 'quiet side" of the Riverwalk...no tourists, businesses, etc, just the water, bridges, the pathway, some nice houses along the river.
This is the historic "Pioneer Flour Mill" owned by one of the settling families of San Antonio, the Guenthers. The mill makes White Wing Flours, tortilla shells, etc, you may have seen some of their products. The mill also has a restaurant that does a super Sunday brunch.
This is one of the bridges I cross over during my one of my Riverwalk routes
Starting to get closer now to where the 'touristy' area is
This is the Arneson River Theater where, a long time ago, I met Sandra Bullock for all of about a minute when a portion of "Miss Congeniality" was being filmed here.
Heading back out to the quiet side again.
This newly built ramp is very convenient, easy to run up to get to the bridge crossing the river, with no stairs to climb
Back on the quiet side, near historic King William District, a ritzy neighborhood full of 19th century mansions.
Back to the bridge I started near....and was done about 5 minutes past it.
It's a very nice little run, about 4.1 miles worth. Y'all come visit, you hear?

Thanks for sharing! Very pretty!

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

I really, really want to go there. And every time you post pictures, I marvel at the fact that there are areas with no railings, guardrails, or other impediments to dunking. I guess it must not be very deep, but don't people need to be protected from themselves?
Looks like a great place to run.
So nice but where's the selfie?

You should see the place when it gets busy...Some of the places (shown with boats) are almost wall to wall people.
un-runnable at that time. But running in morning prior to the crowds is kick-ass.

LMAO
Poor Scotty.
Nice pics, Scotty! Looks like a real nice place to run.

You didn't stop at the brewpub? Lots of nice restaurants there too. I've just seen it mid-afternoon and full of tourists, but it looks like a pretty place to run, especially when its hot.
The new camera takes nice pictures. Great timing on winning it.
