    I ran 8.

How are you feeling? Will you be attempting any quality soon? Your numbers indicate you might be ready for it.

The hat is great. Nice to get something besides a t-shirt.

One would think this race would give mittens.

I am feeling pretty decent. My 12 yesterday felt really good.  And today was alright.  So probably something light this week.

So what was the diagnosis? Was it a disk issue as the second doc surmised?

It was, and she has been operated on to fix it.  It would have been better is she had been operated on within 1 or 2 days of the injury, but with the rookie vet on duty over the T-giving holiday and her mis-diagnosis, we lost several days.  Even so, some dogs make a full recovery, some dogs do not improve at all, and there is a whole lot of in between.  We were told that any recovery will be slow and could take several weeks if not months.

We area very pleased that she looks in such good spirits, can wag her tail and can control her bathroom functions.   There are doggie wheelchair options if she can't get control of her hind legs, but it is way too soon to know if she will be able to regain some functionality back there.   I'm very glad I'm retired and in a position to give her care she needs to have a chance.

Another session on the elliptical planned, with a few minutes of brisk walking on the TM planned.

Most of my life has been revolving around my dog.  She's home now, bright-eyed with a wagging tail.  But she still can't use her back legs and it's driving her crazy not to be able to go outside to use the bathroom on her own terms.  She has managed to go once outside with us supporting her in a sling, so we are hoping she will gradually become used to being helped.   Otherwise she just holds it until she is desperate enough to go in her bed.  Sorry if this is TMI.  It's hard to watch my girl struggle.

I am sorry you (and her) are still struggling.  Not sure if you read what I posted earlier this week but Marjorie went through this with one of her doggies (I think).  Maybe she has some suggestions.  I texted her to check here.  Hopefully you can get some answers.

At this time yesterday, my fever was back.  So far, so good.

Hiya folks. Haven't been on in a long time

                  did 4.1 today

blue Hammy blew a disk 4 years ago.  T10 complete central herniation. He lost all motor in both back legs. Couldn't walk at all. We had a great neuro vet that found the disk and did the surgery. Probably 3 weeks after it happened. He had no known injury but started with some pain then balance then falling and it got worse to where he couldn't even move his legs. . We used a specialty leash and did a lot if therapy with him. Vet said he'd be 98% and he is. There is hope.

Run to live; live to run

We've had our own major doggie stuff these last several weeks. Rockey the puppy got gravely ill. Could have died. Lucky we have one of the top specialty vet places in the Southeast. Two hospitalizations loads of tests. Has an autoimmune disorder. Our regular vet would never have thought of it. We let the rescue know so they could tell the other folks that adopted from the liter. So they could tell their vet that a liter mate has idiopathic immune mediated polyarthritis. Such a mouthful!  He was on high prednisone and has been tapering off it these last 6 or so weeks. Down to 5 mg (was20) in the meds right now and we hope he will go into permanent remission and be off them completely in a few more weeks. Autoimmune is so rare in such a young dog. It was so hard to see him like that.  High fever, couldn't move, feet swollen and in pain.  But he is pretty much back to his old self again now.

Then Hammy got to where he refused to eat. He wanted to but would spit it out or only take a bite. Liver values through the roof. They thought cancer. Referred to specialist (we should have stock in the specialist vet place). Bunch of tests. Tons of meds. No cancer.  Seems to be acid reflux or similar. Even though all his symptoms  don't fit and shouldn't have effected the liver, but the reflux meds help him the most. . He is now eating again. Taking 9 freaking pills a day. I feel like a doggie med nurse dispensing all these pills. After Tuesday we hope to move him down to just three pills!   At the height it was 11 pills a day.

Wow, Marj.  So many issues.  I went through liver diseases with Trixie and Daisy (Daisy died from it), so I am glad to hear he is eating better now.  Force feed if you can!
