      Go figure

Wow, great job with the big changes you've made to get you to where you're at now.  You're right that some more solid pacing and less traffic in front of you, you will definitely have you sub-20 in short order.  We just got a new running store in town and I've loved doing group runs with them...I hope you have the same experience joining your running group.  Speed work with company is definitely a welcomed change.  Congrats on the AG win.

Awesome race, D2.  That PR is very impressive, though with all the miles you put in, it is definitely not a surprise. I can't imagine you as a former fat guy!!  Well done!!

Way to go, Dave! You have made so much progress in your short amount of time running! The personal changes you have gone through are even more impressive. Congratulations!

Awesome!  It sounds like you made a name for yourself on the local scene.

185 eh?  How tall are you?  I'm 6'2" 185, but your legs are thicker.  You look fitter than me.

A 5+ minute PR in a 5K is freaking INSANE!!!!!  You are a BEAST D2!!  Congratulations on the AG win as well.  Awesome!

Awesome job and awesome time! More speed work + lining up toward front +pacing = SMASHING 20.

                          Mmmmm...beer

                            Thanks so much Mickey!

Thanks Jen, I'm actually thinking about another one in a couple of weeks lol

SIAR, I definitely need to do some speedwork, right now all I do are easy runs, so I'm looking to add some intervals and tempos.  I've done all my running solo, so we'll see how it goes with a group.

Thanks Jessica, Mitch & Dan! Smile

Thanks Steph!  I agree, I like the AG award, but the fact that I ran it wearing size Medium shorts and short is the best part! Smile

Luke, I'm 6' even, and yup, I have tree trunks for legs, 24" thighs & 17.5" calves.  I've always had muscular legs, even when I was big, now I'm just putting them to good use. lol

                            Thanks Coralie!

RMTB, I should probably mention that my June 5K was only two months after I started running, so I've logged a lot of miles since then.  I guess from now on I'll have to be happy with the normal process of chipping away at my PR. lol

kbrks, thanks, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what some speed work can do for me.

Jack, here you go, my last before/after.  I'm about 10lbs lighter than that after pic, so pretty much look the same, just getting some more definition.

Congrats, Dave!!  Great job!!  All the hard work you've been putting in is paying HUGE dividends!!  Looking forward to your next 5K where you report that sub 20 you're seeking!
