Friday Penguins smell great!! (Read 10 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Well, maybe not the Penguins themselves ...

But for some reason the hallway outside my office smells like cinnamon rolls.  I just want to go out there and inhale and drool!!  Chorus rehearsal last night was all kinds of fun, but I'm so glad it's Friday!!

That smell could be dangerous.  There are a couple of places in town that I've passed when running that smell like hot apple pie.  It makes me really crave apple pie a la mode.

Afternoon.  Was in court until now, sigh.  Massage therapist appointment and weights tonight.

          Hopes, Yum, cinnamon rolls.

          Ginny, yum!

I had a perfect run on the riverwalk today.  4 miles, beautiful day, didn't feel like I was in hell... and I didn't encounter a single solitary soul.  I love that.  I don't know why, but I just hate encountering anyone when I'm running, even if they mind their own business and stay the hell out of my way.  I'm small and petty like that.

I also picked up three grocery bags of litter during my warm up and cool down.   I pick up litter at the park I start my run at.  The city is good about keeping the park clean, but I help out as a courtesy to the Earth... because I'm also altruistic and better than everyone else.  And humble, too.

Glad you're staying humble,  Buelligan! Sounds like a nice run! I am about to attempt MP in a windstorm.

Z - I hope your windy run went well.  I hear the northwest is supposed to get hit by a very big storm. I don't know about Oregon, but the trail folks in Washington are concerned.

Buelligan - I'm the opposite:  I love seeing other runners out there.  I feel like I'm part of a community, even if I never meet them.  Where I live I rarely see runners while I'm running, but if I drive into town, I can sometimes see them, and sometimes I'll go to one of the railtrails an hour from home just to get some company.

                  D - I hope the massage helped.

I badly needed a rest day (my running isn't going at all well) so I was happy when DH agreed to go to the mountains for a short hike.  Sunshine, 60 degrees, red and gold in the trees and leaves crunching underfoot - wonderful!

It's windy here but not terrible. The worst is supposed to be Washington tomorrow. We're leaving to drive to Washington tomorrow.

That walk and weather sounds lovely!

He gave me so much pain adjusting my right leg but I finally feel light (hard to explain how heavy/lazy the leg felt.
