Date Nut Cookie Bread Thursday Penguins (Read 20 times)

PADRunner

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

Morning!  Thanks, PAD.  Woke up with a migraine, but not sure if related (I think not).

I have 13 miles and Pilates today.

We used to have date nut bread at Christmas, then it became cranberry for a while.  Both sound really good right now.

PAD - good job on the dark trail run, especially on not falling.

D - good luck on your MLR later.  Or is it a LR?  Are you back to having a coach or just following a previous plan?

AFM:  we may go to the state forest this afternoon so I can run 4 on the ski trail and Jim and Ben can enjoy the wintery woods. If there's a lot of snow/ice I may just walk with them and run at home later.

DW made baklava.  3.5 mile street run.  Didn't need the armsleeves.

Nobody here really likes dates, but we do like cookies!  DD made some a few days ago.  I'm not doing the massive Christmas cookie bake this year though.  We're honestly not doing much this year.  No tree or lights.

I ran a mile.  Needed a "day off".

                GinnyinPA

I ended up with a day off too.  After walking the ski trail, I was so cold I didn't want to go out and run in the dark. I'd like to look at all the Christmas lights, but tonight's not the night.

I haven't done my full night run around the neighborhood to look at lights either.  It was so icy last week that it wasn't a good idea, and this week I've had people to run with so far.  Thanks for the reminder.

Ginny, following one of his old plans.  I only had 6 weeks until Houston, so figured I wouldn't waste his time.

Ran 13 with 8 @ MP, got my neck cracked and went to Pilates.

D - that's a busy evening!  Did you get off work early?

                        Docket_Rocket

I get off work at 4:30pm but working from home I eliminate the commute of an hour.
