Soggy Monday Penguins! (Read 12 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Hi Penguins!!  It's all kinds of wet, rainy, and windy here today.  My walk will definitely be inside today!  I'm in for another crazy busy week, capped off by chorus coaching AND quartet coaching on Saturday, and a pickup quartet rehearsal on Sunday.  I just realized that I have something going every weekend until the end of February.  Sheesh!

Docket -- so sorry to hear about your injury!!  Was this car-crash related, or overuse, or it just kinda happened?

Morning!  I am going to lift today but will refrain from running until tomorrow.  Knee feels better, at least.

HopeMom, meniscii injuries are not from over use (you can't tear it by running or using it), so I assume it was either from the accident or a fall, trip, I don't recall.  I am a klutz so I am sure there are many I don't remember.

HopesMom - enjoy your indoor walk and busy week.

D - can you still do Pilates with the knee?  Good luck with the weights tonight.  Have you tried a stationary bike to work off some of the tension from not running?

Rainy windy raw day here (40 feels like 28) so I'll do my short run on the TM later.

I can do Pilates as they can taylor with whatever I can do, so my next class is Tuesday.  I don't have access to a stationary bike, but hubby needs to put my bike back into comission so I can ride too.  But I am thinking walking or run/walk will keep me in shape more than biking.  Last time I did that and getting back after surgery was harder for some reason.  Maybe it's the nature of that surgery.

            Enjoy the TM run.

            She laughs at me......

D, I've been stalking a little bit. I'm glad you're going for the surgery. I had meniscus repair and patella reallignment on both knees back in the dark ages before I started running. I've had my share of other running and non-running related problems, but the knees have been fine.

I saw the new Dr today. He's a runner that has been taking a break after a torn calf and another injury I can't remember. I think I talked him into getting back out there. Smile

He's good with me running as much and as far as I want and will help with whatever I need med wise. I love that guy.

Nice, that's a good doctor.  I have not met my surgeon yet, but the ortho was very good about trying to get me back to running.

2.5 run/walk test run.  Nope.  I'll do short run/walk intervals when I can, this was 1/0:30 but never painless.  If I want to go longer, maybe I'll do the reverse next time.  We'll see.

Just finished 5 in the park. Should have rested today but I'm not that smart. I want to top 200 for the month.
