Do you guys all do 2 workouts a week for marathon training (not including the long run)? I have cut back to just one the past few weeks and have been liking it a lot better. I should probably get back to 2 workouts... but... <--- lazy

Hansons make it two workouts per week + 1 long run every other week. The accent of their program, to me, is on the Thursday MP workout (Tempo in Hansons vocabulary). I just started with Hansons, but this Sunday I have a long run of.. 10 miles I found that weird until I decided that Thursdays were the important workout of the week. So I'm thinking since they must know more about this marathon training shit than I do, I will give them a chance and follow what they prescribe and try to nail their workouts instead of adding stuff. I'll see where that brings me in September.
I felt great in yesterday's 7.5 MP run, and definitely nailed it, and today I feel a bit tired from it. I'll try to enjoy the easy running days coming up and be ready to nail the next workout.
RD - just a short walk and PT exercises. DS, on the other hand, is running the 1600, the 400, and the 4x100 in a kids' track meet. And he's driving me nuts with his anxiety levels.
20,000 miles behind me, the world still to see.

Even by my own high standards, my sleep last night was fantastic. I slept for almost 10 hours, and I slept hard. Credit goes to being exhausted and taking pain killers. My plan today was to get up early and run, then go for a bike ride after work. DW thought it'd be a good idea for me to take it easy today, so I'll skip the ride and go for a run after work. Ok then.
Toof doc said my pain would probably reach it's highest level today. So far he is right.
ETA: I've got my first road triathlon Sunday. Pretty excited about that!

14-15 for me tonight. Then tomorrow is a short recovery run and I can't wait for it.

Morning. For some reason I cannot get a text box on my PC. I have Pilates and 7 miles pending the knee.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

I took a rest day from running and did some single leg stuff on the BOSU ball. I am at the point where I can stand on it one-legged and text and read emails on my phone, which is not as simple as it sounds.
That's pretty impressive. I can hardly stand on one foot on a hard floor without falling off.
4 miles on the greenway this morning. Thick, but tolerable. Now off to cut my own grass before the sun hits it.
I just checked the BOSU balls on Amazon. More expensive than I thought. Which one did you get?
Just an FYI, if you wait until New Years, there are often sales or specials on them. I paid $125 at Target but got a $25 gift card.
Time to step it up a bit, then.
RD for me. Mia had a good night, so let's hope that continues.
Day 4 of that class I've had to take. Since it's a writing training, they were picking a few teachers in the class to read their writing today. I am going to be sharing my story of getting lost on my run in Orlando.
The pro model, I would not buy anything less than that. Mine listed for $160 but I lucked out and got it for $142 thanks to lily.
While there are a million variations of exercises, everything I am doing on it is with the hard side up.

Ok. Thanks for the info (HC too, although if I want one, I don't think I'll wait for that long).
Any reason for this? I do most stuff besides planks on the done side.

Weather wasn't too bad this morning so I went ahead and took Rocky with me for a 4 mile run, I think he's gained about 4 lbs of fat in the last 3-4 weeks since he hasn't been running, poor fatso Even though it was only 70 degrees, it was still a bit muggy and Rocky struggled a little so we just did 4 miles at a slow enough pace for him.
Then I headed off to the gym for Shoulders & Delts.
