Warm&fuzzy
Good morning!
I ran 7 in 30F w/15+mph N winds and near whiteout snow blowing. It will be above 40 this afternoon, so the shit is temporary, but it's unpleasant out there right now.
I'm not going to say it loud or with any specifics, (so as to not attract the attention of the running gods, PBUThem), but I have hopes for this fall.
Have a great day!
Runner with a riding problem.
Morning! I have 4 miles and weights tonight. Woke up almost two hours prior to me needing to wake up, even with the time change, gah.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

'Morning. I am dragging ass this morning. Good Lord. Between a weekend of playing hard plus DST, I need an additional weekend to recover.
ANYWHO, I had a good swim this morning despite being tired and sleepy. 2500 yards at a fast-for-me average pace. Run later, and am hoping the rail trail will be melted just enough to run on today before it's buried in snow again tonight.

Did you ever hear from your coach about the 10000m swim?
No snow, just darkness. 6 miles. On a 50 day streak.
Dave
Not yet, but he'll get back to me. He's been unavailable all weekend.
Warm and humid here this morning. AND F'ing dark. For the entire run.
I was feeling every inch of the 1000+ ft of elevation from yesterday's run. Almost stopped after a mile but then things slowly improved. 4 miles that ranged from 80-year-old-woman-pace to easy/recovery.
Got to work and was told my presence is needed to take some visiting colleagues out to dinner tonight. Grrrr. I am already tired from DST so the last thing I need is to add another 3-4 hours onto the work day.
We're having flurries here, but nothing serious. It's a rest day, so aside from walking the dog I won't have to worry about it.
Super B****
I ran 7.15 because I was under the mistaken impression that my knee does not hurt anymore. It does.
I'm thinking of going climbing tonight to force myself to stay awake instead of conking out at 5 PM and then waking up in the middle of the night... but I'm one of those people who gets super cranky when I'm tired. My poor climbing partner.

...just now, I am the proud owner of an unused pair of Elixir THREEs.
OMG, I'm so jealous! My 7s and 8s are about to go kaput and you know how I feel about Elixirs!
I ran 4 miles around the lake at the gym, which is basically flat and felt nice after the hilly route yesterday. Then did some weights in the gym. Which basically consists of me walking around not knowing what the hell im doing
Got my 5 mile run done on a hill route, and it was a strong run as these things go.
Turns out Coach made a mistake on my Friday swim and I "only" have to swim 4,000 yards. The part of me that likes a challenge is a bit disappointed, but the rest of me that was thinking "FTS" is pretty happy about that.

Thank god.
I've been waiting to hear about this... "Only." That's cute how you say "only."
DavePNW, Kitsap Peninsula means something to me. Where'd you go? Poulsbo? I like your recaps of the weather up there, it reminds me that fondness for the place of one's birth is felt more strongly from afar. As in, a-far-far away from the weather.
Saturday I ran 4.25 in the rain. Sunday was my last "long run" of 12, also in light rain. Nothing fancy, just got it done. It felt hard AF, so I'm interpreting that as a sign that I've tapered totally wrong. As I understand, this loss of perspective is normal.
Today was 3. Finally not raining, but humid and sticky and gross.
