Because I can't make running decisions alone.....get up early & run or skip? (Read 273 times)

Actually, you know what, I will. You are right. May is a very long time from now and I never schedule cutback weeks, I just let them happen naturally. I haven't had a cutback week in nearly 2 months now. I think I will happily miss my Thursday evening 5 miler and not feel badly about it. And I might even have an extra beer with dinner. Thanks for reminding me to enjoy other things besides running.

The right attitude!!! You have it Smile

Really, extra alcohol is always the best answer.

so then I got up and ran 8.

I kept dreaming about missing it, so figured just get up and run the damn miles. It was a beautiful morning, calm & dry, 18 degrees but it felt much warmer. Bonus of running so early, I ditched my jacket and neck gaiter & gloves at mile 2 and didn't worry much about them still being there by the time I got back. Nice!

          Nice job!

I was never a morning person, still not sure if I am, but I love running early in the morning in the dark before the world is awake. Smile

You people must go to bed when it gets dark!  Seriously, what time do y'all go to bed?  I must stay up entirely too late to do stuff in the morning...but I've always been an evening person.  Evidently, there must be a 5AM, but I will never know it.  I'll be warm in my bed!

That's the part I need to work on, I still stay up until 11-12, and then get up at 5.  Unless I have a race, then I'm in bed early for at least two days prior to the race (and I've only run four races lol).

NBT, I am so proud/envious of you for actually getting out there in the cold so early. I LOVE running in the morning but I DREAD the cold and dark. I can usually handle one or the other, but not both. So my runs have been pushed to after work recently. I hate missing out on the time with the kiddo in the afternoon though. Wish I had someone close by to help me get my ass outta bed to face the cold. Way to rock on! We all knew you'd get those miles in!
