Barking Mad To Run

    Tantivy:  at full gallop; headlong.

Which about describes the holiday rush for most folks.

We all know the drill by know.  Post 'em!

    Barking Mad To Run

In San Antonio today, it is going to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood!  It is a bit chilly for we South Texans at 38 degrees right now, but we will be warming up quickly and will get to 68 degrees today with lots of sunshine.   So  a run/walk for me after work.  Probably do the trails in the park near the Zoo.  Or maybe do the university campus route.  Or maybe the trails at a park near the university.  Or maybe Fort Sam Houston or Lackland Air Force Base.  Or maybe, with all this sunshine, along the Riverwalk, followed by a post-run beer.   Dang..I have too many choices of places to run!  What a problem to have.

Oh yeah...and Yay Baltimore Ravens! Good game last night, right to the wire.   61-yard field goal kick to beat Detroit Lions, yeah baby!  33  field goals in a row made now by that guy, awesome, and he won the game as all the points for the Ravens came from the FIVE field goals he kicked for this game.

Whatcha got there, Charlie Runs-A-Lot!?  Holiday breakfast at work today that is hosted by Finance management, of which yours truly is a member.  Lots of free pastries, danishes, coffee cakes, bagels, etc, but I loaded up on the bacon and eggs.  WANT MORE.  I think I need to go back for seconds....

0 degrees when I headed out to work this morning, but it warmed up to 1 by the time I got there.  We've got 4" of snow on the way today.  1 degree plus 4" of snow means a TREADMILL day for me!  Because fock that.

Morning, all! Installing java at the moment, then I'll take DS to school a little early so we can go around with gifts for his teachers - homemade cinnamon-sugar pretzels and Panera gift cards. He thought we needed to give them to basically everyone he works with on a regular basis - that means his classroom teacher, the special ed/autism specialist, the two aides who are his classroom, the art teacher, the music teacher, the PE teacher, and the librarian. Just so we don't leave anyone out, I also have a few boxes of chocolates to put in the staff breakroom - they are ones I ordered at different times for our family, only to find they said "may contain wheat" which we can't have.

Running? Oh, yeah, we do that around here, too. I'll hit the TM for 10 or so, probably with a ladder interval workout of some type.

            Have a great day, everyone!

20,000 miles behind me, the world still to see.

Morning! I have 9 miles tonight.

We decided to delay the biopsy for a couple of days to get her a bit stronger.  Waiting for the doctor's call to let us know whether we need to give her any additional medications while we wait.  She just caught a cold too so surgery at this point might be detrimental.

                Good Morning, Friends!

Only 3 more work days (including today) until I’m off for the rest of the year!   Woo Hoo!   Hopefully, these days don’t d-r-a-g themselves out and seem to last 36 hours each!

Scotty – Thanks for starting us off today!   Where do you find all the words you teach us – do you have a word of the day calendar or do you just let your fingers do the walking through the old Merriam-Webster? Enjoy your run this afternoon!

Phil – Free breakfast? Score!   Breakfast is my favorite food group.   ;-)   Have a wonderful day!

Shari – I bet your son’s teachers love their gifts. That’s very thoughtful of y’all!   Hope you have a Pinktacular run later!

Damaris – Hope you get better news than your expecting about Trixie.   It’s always hard when your furry friends are sick.   Hugs!

Rest Day for me.   Currently, I’m not scheduling rest days – between spinning and running, I try to do something most days and take rest days when I feel like I need them.   Today was one of those days…..   However, since I ate Cheetos for breakfast, today probably shouldn’t be a rest day.   Oops!

Have a Pinksational day!   And, may your next run open your mind and your heart to new opportunities all around you!

                - Sarah

FYP.  Did you do that on purpose?

                  Supp!

My running hiatus ended this morning with a 5 mile treadmill run, which was not bad as those things go.  We awoke to 3 more inches on the ground so my weekday runs will all be inside for the foreseeable future.

That leaves only the weekend runs to the park if conditions allow it.  Gotta love winter.  Not.  Really.

At least in the summer you can run outside, albeit in a miserable, overheated, soaked state most often.  I am not one to try trudging through a foot of snow, ice and dirty ass muck so I will be waiting for a clear path on one of my routes.

I hope everything works out for the kitty.

Whatever Dorian had early Sunday morning, I got last night and I am still not feeling too good. Just about every muscle in my body is hurting right now, but I am slowly starting to feel a little better. If I do any running today to keep my streak going, it will be another 11 minutes around the shipping tables. Hopefully I will be feeling better tomorrow, so I can run my 7 miles either in the morning or evening.

The run where I breathed the best while that Chicago run, even though it was snowing like crazy and the wind was at close to 30mph. Loved it.  At least my lungs can breathe in that shit.  Not so here. My breathing capacity went down these last 6 months again.  Sigh.

                              Uffda

Hi. I ran today. 5 miles @ an Easy pace in fact. It was on a Treadmill.

Decent day as far as work goes. I'm out of here at 1:15 to take over for DW who has an appointment with a nutritionist to go over stuff for our next baby. Smile At tomorrow's appointment we'll hear the heart beat. Man I love being a dad. After her appointment, the DW said she wanted to finish Christmas shopping for me. That gave me an idea - take DD to the mall during the middle of the day when the hoards of people aren't there! Maybe I can buy some small stocking stuffers for DW since I have all of her presents purchased.

Oh yeah, shoes from runningwarehouse.com should come in the mail today. Booya!

                                Have a great day everyone!
