Fear is a Liar
The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)
I'm so vegetarian I don't even eat animal crackers!
Good Morning Penguins!
I skipped work yesterday because of impending bad weather. Now I have to see if I can make it up my ice covered street to the main road. Yesterday was full body workout on the weight machine plus a little bit of free weights. At home I did the 12 myrtl exercises, side lunges, and two types of single leg dead lifts, as well as some miscellaneous name-less exercises, and finally planks. I got to do all these on my new exercise mat my wife got me for Christmas - it beats doing them on the hardwood floor!
Tori - hope all is well with your dad.

Damaris- Enjoy your work from home day and your miles tonight
hog- Enjoy the rest
AFM- No work for me, I'm off the week between Christmas and New Years. However, I have a ton of paperwork to catch up with for work so today is the day, because I am going away tomorrow til New Years Day. Rest day for me (I think, unless the overwhelming desire to go run just takes over) but I will probably do some strength exercises in my apartment. I so rarely actually do them anymore even though I have weights, a resistance band, and a stability ball. So we will see.
Have a good day!

Bin, You will like the Miles game. It's the first one I did, it's a great motivational tool and lets you contribute to a group. Every single mile counts, so post them all.
I will join you today too.
hog- what is the link for the miles game that I didn't already miss the cutoff for? I wanted to do 2013in2013 but I couldn't decide on a mileage goal and missed the cutoff.
