Tuesday Penguins are running late! (Read 7 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

No more so than any other day, but apparently it's National Be Late for Something Day, so there you go.  DH and I certainly were not feeling perky and just jumping out of bed ready to start the day today!!  My tech was planning on being out this afternoon, then texted me this morning and asked for the whole day, so I'm reveling in the alone time today.  Not that he's overly noisy, but I'm such a total introvert, it's kinda nice.

Afternoon!  Got too busy last night so I ended up not checking back here.  Ran 6 and went to Pilates yesterday.  I had PT this morning, Pilates and 5-6 tonight.

        And it's now a Category 5.  Woohoo!

HopesMom, I'm never late!  There is a day for that?

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

We went to State Line to look at a new used camper and got caught waiting for a train. Then we got lost. By the time we got to our destination, we were very late. Then we didn't buy it.  Oh well. I planned to run after going to the grocery store, but somehow it is 4 p.m. and I still have done neither. Definitely running late today. There's a big thunderstorm outside, so it looks like it will be later still before I get out, if I do.  I was helping Jim offload the camper from our truck and everything was going wrong. That's not done either.

D - do you have your emergency supplies ready?

HM - I hope you enjoyed your quiet day.

We both got home late so I took my RD so hubby can run.

We don't really stock on much.  Electricity will go away the same day it starts if not sooner so no hot food will occur.  We just buy bread, ham and cheese and that is it.  We don't buy water, but we fill up one of the bathtubs, and a couple of gallons from the tap. We have a box of Boost (hubby's breakfasts) and a bunch of Gatorade, so that is enough.  I have learned from prior ones that you either lose everything (in which case all you bought is lost) or it's not as bad as you hope.  There never seems to be a middle.

People are crazy.  Took me 2 hours to find gas and that was only because I was empty.  Otherwise, I would have waited.  Saw two accidents today.  People need to chill the fuck down.
