Barking Mad To Run
The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

Congrats to all our Boston folks!
Did my weight training circuit after work yesterday. Have been a slouch in that area for the past 3 weeks, so it was tough getting back into it. The few muscles that I have seemed to protest somewhat, some were spasm-ing a bit after I finished, lol. Good workout, though, and then after the weights I did 5 minutes on the rowing machine. 5 minutes was about all I could handle for now, that thing really kicks my butt! Have to build my stamina back up on that too. Some easy miles after work today. Nice and sunny here and will be near 80 for my runtime.
Morning Scotty. Enjoy your warm run later. I hope you're not sore from yesterday's workout.
I have 3 on tap today. I'm really wishing I could run more, but I'm trying to stick with the plan. Five days!
Return To Racing
Good morning Scotty and Ginny. 3 or 4 for us this morning, before we head back home. Had a nice trip to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake yesterday. Very eerie scenery.
Hi guys. I was tired last night, so I didn't run. That means 8-10 for me tonight!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run. The only thing that matters is how we have loved.
Morning! I have Pilates and 6-7 miles tonight. Most likely on the TM again due to the fires.

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

Morning pens! I'm supposed to do 6 today but I'm feeling the DOMS from long run Sunday. I'll have to get out there and see how I feel. Maybe I'll do a shorter run and some extra stretching today.

Hi Pens.
I will get a run in at some point today, probably when DD2 is swimming, but if the weather is good I may go out earlier. Right now it's cloudy and drizzly and that is great weather for running.
See ya.
Hi everyone, hopefully 5-7 after work.
Good morning Penguins!
HopesMom - good morning!
Jerry, safe travels! I got some good advice from my run club this morning on where to shop for my Bosch dishwasher.

Ginny, trust the plan for a few more days!
Jill, hope you don't feel too bad and can get your miles in.
Damaris, Mitch, Jack, & Zel, have a good run later.
PAD, nice running, hope you get your double in.
I ran 6.5 with my club this morning.

Hi pens!9ish miles with 3x2 miles HMP yesterday then went up to Boston for a couple hours, 5.1 miles easy plus overhead press and deadlifts today. I wore sunscreen and got sweaty and it was just amazing, hard to believe the weather sucked so much yesterday!
