Week 15 Pengins are ... hey, who farted?? (04/07-04/13) (Read 10 times)

Singer who runs a smidge

The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges."  And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Yes, it's that day you've been waiting for, Dog Farting Awareness Day!!  I love discovering the holiday of the day, because sometimes they're just head-shake-worthy.  So I guess today is a good day to tell you that Dusty farts often, and often scares himself right off his futon because noise has suddenly exploded out of his butt.

Yoga done today, but no biking, as I had a carpool passenger and I didn't think she'd want to ride on the handlebars.  I hate to miss a lovely biking day, but it's all good in the grand scheme of things.  Plus I have a mild headache leftover from yesterday (for some reason), so there's that.

Did some gardening this weekend, plus got some flowers into the pots on our deck.  And we repotted our two blueberry bushes.  As for the garden plot I'm working on clearing of weeds, I should be done around mid-May.    I thought I'd try some sunflowers this year, so maybe I'll plant them as I get ground cleared rather than waiting until I'm completely done.  In case I never finish!

Morning!  Back at the office after working remotely and traveling for work in the last two weeks.  Can't wait to not be here until Monday once I leave today, ha.  I have 5 tonight.

HopesMom, nice job on the yoga.  Those farts can be lethal.

          TELL me about it!!

Also, thanking my lucky stars that we live far enough out of Cville so that we won't get caught up much in whatever happens tonight.  I didn't watch the game on Saturday, but got a full recap at church Sunday morning!

          Penguin Power!

Cut my planned 4 mile run down to 2.6 miles today. It was a bit humid and warm. My allergies were acting up and my feet felt weird. I could have pushed through it and I probably would have been fine but laziness prevailed.

my new watch came today so I’ll provably test it out with a walk after naptime.

            Upcoming Races: Run as One 4M (4/24) * Japan Run 4M (5/8) * Brooklyn Half (5/21)

I took another rest day since my legs were hurting. I did 50 minutes on the stationary bike instead.

Ben will fart when I'm spending too much time brushing him. He's tolerant of my efforts to thin his fur up to a point, but he lets me know when he's had enough, first by passing gas, then he'll take my hand gently in his mouth to say STOP Please.

Weaponized farting, awesome!!  Jill, I know ALL about laziness prevailing.  Hope the new toy is fun!

Yoga and biking both done this morning.  I did not watch the big game, but of course got my updates through FB this morning.  Haven't heard about too much craziness going on in town, so that's a good thing.

I finally spent my REI dividend yesterday, so I got a biking skort and a t-shirt for $0.44.  That might be a bargain record for me!

HM - very nice use of your dividend.

Howdy, all!  It's a lovely day in the neighborhood -- I could've gotten away with shorts, but since it was 45 degrees when I got up, I thought I should wear pants instead.  Ended up ditching my jacket because I was a little too warm, so I'm sure I'll be wishing for my shorts this afternoon.  It's ok, though, it was still biking.  And yoga too, woo-hoo!

No quartet rehearsal tonight -- our lead has a four-hour meeting with her financial planner, and expects to be brain-fried by the end of it.  I could use the sleep -- woke up at 4:45 and that was it for the night.  Oh well, it's all good!

Morning!  Sorry I was MIA yesterday but between court and a bunch of conference calls, it was a busy day.  I managed to get to Pilates and run 7 with 4 X 800m on the TM last night so yay me.  And without asthma this time.  I just cannot do these outside or in too hot or humid conditions anymore. Sad

I have either 6 or RD tonight.  In Court again.

                      HopesMom, 45F sounds wonderful.  Nice.

                      Ginny, Jill, hiya!

Howdy, Penguins!!  I did my yoga this morning, but no biking for me today.  Today is one of our "named lectures".  We hold them a couple of times a year, and they're special in that we invite higher-caliber speakers and have a reception, dress up a little, etc.  My fancy clothes kind of precluded biking in.  And the lecture starts at 5:00 this evening, which means chorus rehearsal is out of the question as well.

Tomorrow may or may not be a bike day, depending on the rain.  I'd kind of like to bike, because that would mean leaving my car out in the rain, so maybe some of the pollen would get washed off!

Afternoon!  WFH and today is my Thriday but nonetheless busy.  I scheduled a meeting a 2pm (by phone) and the attorney has still not called me so I wasted my time moving things around for him.  Sigh.

I have 6 tonight as I took my RD yesterday.

HopesMom, hope you don't get rain tomorrow so you can bike!

Well, I biked this morning, hoping there's not a monsoon this afternoon.  Though even my bike tires are yellow, so maybe some rain would be a good thing!  I wore shorts and my raincoat, so hopefully I will dry off quickly if I do get wet.  I skipped yoga, though -- just didn't have the energy today.  I will need to make a cheesecake this weekend, as my folks are coming up for Easter.  I'm thinking Bailey's with a chocolate ganache.  I'm taking a week off while they visit -- from Wednesday of next week through Tuesday the 23rd, and I am REALLY looking forward to that!  We have no plans to go anywhere, so I'm hoping to catch up on sleep and do some spring cleaning and gardening.

HM - I hope the rain holds off for you. Enjoy your Easter break.

D - I hope your work from home day is peaceful, aside from the cats. Did your 2:00 call ever call you?

I was up at 5:30, thanks to a bad case of insomnia. I'd like to run, but not sure if I will.
