I cautiously lowered the mileage during 2 weeks during the month, thinking I might be running a marathon, but still surprisingly ended up with
319.2 for the month, which is a decent mileage month for me.
The first week of taper wasn't actually that much of a taper anyways, just that I made sure it wasn't one of my occasional big weeks (71 miles), and the second week of taper I ran 61.5 (by the weekend I had pretty much given up on the marathon). This week, I am not tapering at all, so mileage is back to normal.

261, my most in a September. Also, looking through my log, it was the highest summer mileage I've ever run by a fair amount. Hopefully it'll help during my two fall marathons. I am glad the cooler weather is here. This summer sucked. Not many scorching hot days, but the most days of 90+ degrees, which I am sure will be topped next year, then the next, then the next. No wonder my paces were slower.

177.2. Highest in months but not by much (comparing it to last month).

As part of the 2024 London Marathon, I am fundraising for VICTA, a charity that helps blind and visually impaired children. My mentor while in law school, Jim K (a blind attorney), has been a huge inspiration and an example of courage and perseverance. Please consider donating.

So Aug was a pathetic 51 miles. Sept is 140 miles so Progress! It would be better if average pace wasn't an entire minute slower than Before The Sickness.
Are we there, yet?

When I joined RA I retroactively posted artificial workouts so I could have my lifetime miles dating from May 3, 1968 included in Total Miles. As of today that total is
88,888.8 miles.

Incidentally, as a fellow Cub fan I highly recommend a book called Crazy ‘08s, about the battle between the Cubs and NY Giants for the 1908 NL pennant, which I’m sure you remember well.

that's awesome!
Thanks. I have to admit, though, there's an strong element of luck involved in not getting injured (my worst injury during that period was two+ weeks off, but they were spread out over two months - another element of luck). Still, I'm proud of it.
Nice!
awesome awesome!
